We all know mods are been suggesting by the other mods etc
So what about a new system to elect new moderators
A new section in the forums where all moderator applications will be posted and on those applications Epicmafia can vote on so its more fair choosing the mod for epicmafia by the players of epicmafia
So its -1 votes or +1 votes with a reason why you downvote or upvote
This will highly stop mods suggesting only friends
A mod should be choosed by the players of epicmafia and not the mods themselves
Current template i thought up
Main account:(Whats your main account)
Alternate accounts:(Your alternate accounts)
Why would you be a good mod(explanition why you be a good mod)
What would you do if three poeple gets into a fight with eachother(explaining how you would handle it)
Do you have any prior experience being a mod?
Did you contribute something to the community
Your timezone:
Langauges you speak(sometimes there are games with other langauges but very uncommonly)
That actually proves that the only thing people are complaining about is not being a part of the process (or the lack of transparency in the process) which means that there is literally no reason to change the process.
I feel like having those aspects in the voting would be a fair compromise. You wouldn't want someone like lilin becoming a mod just because everyone voted for them.

Clearly; that mod page is full of community darlings.
Before we go into the fine details and descriptions of each element in the election system, we should probably decide on some overarching elements:
- Do we want involvement of previous mods? - Should there be any elimination done by the admin/mods before the community votes? - Should the mods/admin have a final say after the votes have been tallied?

I think we should elect mods. Mods choosing other mods leads to a never ending circle of power abuse.
most mods wouldnt choose me because i call some out on their bs

That's because these threads are always filled with a combination of people who've got grudges against certain mods, nostalgic/jaded former moderators who think things were so much better when they were mods, and thirsty people who want to be mods but have been rejected.
The other 75% of players don't actually care who does the modding.
People getting modded and unbanned is already a popularity contest, Zwink. The mods are incapable of decision making without community flow. It won't make a difference if there's an election system implemented.
maybe this way though it won't just be a mod circle of bffs.
The mod circle will always be biased towards a certain group of people. This site has been corrupted with certain mods for over 5 years. It will never change. The system cannot be saved unfortunately regardless of what system is implemented by Lucid.
but if we can vote in a new mod, and that mod ends up being one of the better mods ... It'll prove the system works and we can weed out some of the current bad mods. I've seen really great respectable people apply for mod, but since they aren't bffs with the mods they never even get a response.
most of the people in this thread complaining are just salty they werent modded.
truth be told community-held elections would be ten times worse than it is now. Sims is a good friend and I don't see most of the people he has modded be due to circlejerking.

i'm not sure how it's been an inner circle when christopherzilla built his own team from scratch 2 months ago

- Particular # of mods at a given time - Mod prerequisites (account age, point minimum, no significant vios, etc) - Mod term length: (please suggest ideas) - No limit on number of mod terms - During election time, mod applications following a precise format are to be sent to the site admin (existing mods wishing to run for another term must do this as well) - The admin and current mod team examine the mod apps and discard only applicants who don't meet the mod prerequisites . - Once a list of qualified mod applicants is ready, they should be inserted into a voting app - The voting app will present the every candidate's name and mod application in a random order - The voting system will be based on the Borda Count System - Votes are limited to main accounts of a certain age and point amount, and only one vote per account linked by IP
Please suggest modifications, specifications, or another system all together.
Any thoughts on some of theses elements? It gives a suggestion for each element of the process, which is how I think we should go about deciding the system.

Trial mods was Arcbell's excuse to mod his friends when even the other moderators didn't agree with him ;)
