Suggestion:Mod election system

deleteddeletedabout 11 years ago

We all know mods are been suggesting by the other mods etc

So what about a new system to elect new moderators A new section in the forums where all moderator applications will be posted and on those applications Epicmafia can vote on so its more fair choosing the mod for epicmafia by the players of epicmafia

So its -1 votes or +1 votes with a reason why you downvote or upvote This will highly stop mods suggesting only friends

A mod should be choosed by the players of epicmafia and not the mods themselves

Current template i thought up

Main account:(Whats your main account)

Alternate accounts:(Your alternate accounts)

Why would you be a good mod(explanition why you be a good mod)

What would you do if three poeple gets into a fight with eachother(explaining how you would handle it)

Do you have any prior experience being a mod?

Did you contribute something to the community

Your timezone:

Langauges you speak(sometimes there are games with other langauges but very uncommonly)

Age:(how old are you in real life)

HEY LOOK A TEMPLATE^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

the easiest way is a window of about a week before the end of the month when people can rate the moderators and for those with bad ratings for either inactivity, toxic personality, or bad decision making, suggest candidates for replacement. people then vote on the candidates within this week. the system automatically chooses those who are highest voted.

lucid i have something to tell you that everyone has been meaning to say but hasn't wanted to say it to you directly, because, well you're the owner of the site and we need you to fix things

actually my post was like ironic or satire or one of those complicated things or something bro. srs, plussing/unplussing posts in an open forum is probably the best form of democracy. i think it's like the only thing that negates arrow's impossibility theorem. we already have the perfect system more or less

Its just a better guideline for choosing mods which players think be a good one

nya
its going to become a popularity contest and i think ur ignoring the fact it would cause possible drama between mods if 2 people on the team disliked each other
you don't always get to like everyone you work with, and it's always been a bit of a circlejerk system anyway so I don't see much difference

it would be like electing the US congress to run epicmafia

people will trade tokens and then turn a blind eye to cheating scandals by big runners

i mean it really won't work but you can try it i guess ¯\_( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)_/¯

if this is used to complement the existing system, then it's a great idea.

replacing it entirely with a poll-based voting system would lead to a team full of mods that are not necessarily competent at all.

great leader has spoken, and so it shall be done. hail, admin!

if a fair system that is self regulating can be devised, i'll build it
deleteddeletedabout 11 years ago
So i thought of adding a new section to the forums where moderator aplplications are posted and then a player shoukd give a reason why he is good or bad and when they all explained or the most you moderators/admins can pick a good mod of those
adminabout 11 years ago
unsurprisingly, the objections are coming from existing mods/vets

I like this idea! Also opened by someone with a good personality. I'm sure that if he wants to invest time, he could also become a good Mods, this is my democracy comment :)

Yeah I choose democracy. We can make pastebins about people who cheated / meta abused in the mod election so that the mods can choose who they wanna disqualify ^___^
