We all know mods are been suggesting by the other mods etc
So what about a new system to elect new moderators
A new section in the forums where all moderator applications will be posted and on those applications Epicmafia can vote on so its more fair choosing the mod for epicmafia by the players of epicmafia
So its -1 votes or +1 votes with a reason why you downvote or upvote
This will highly stop mods suggesting only friends
A mod should be choosed by the players of epicmafia and not the mods themselves
Current template i thought up
Main account:(Whats your main account)
Alternate accounts:(Your alternate accounts)
Why would you be a good mod(explanition why you be a good mod)
What would you do if three poeple gets into a fight with eachother(explaining how you would handle it)
Do you have any prior experience being a mod?
Did you contribute something to the community
Your timezone:
Langauges you speak(sometimes there are games with other langauges but very uncommonly)
Age:(how old are you in real life)
HEY LOOK A TEMPLATE^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Poll

Lets the mods choose by themselves32%27

this can be sorted out by only allowing people with a certain amount of karma or points to vote
deleteddeletedabout 11 years ago
The issue with people voting is there are a lot of users with heaps of accounts and there is no way to stop them voting for themselves 1000's of times. So no this will not work

Because it can be simpled cheated If i was looking for a good mod [depends on current ones] I would look at their timezone their past violations their main and that they have experience playing the game etc
And also for sims im not promoting myself at all somoene wanted me to do this so i did
Thats why you need to post a REASON why he should be modded and a good reason and not a dumb one like HE HAS MANY POINTZ
Almost everyone on this site is capable of modding, it's very easy to talk up friends without resorting to he has a lot of points. It would litterally be a popularity contest.
Also why is promoting someone for having a lot of points a bad thing? Surely it proves they have experience playing ranked games and would know how to moderate them as such.

the polls could cause a lot of outrage though, remember what happened with skillz?
lmfao that owned. skillz was tasht talkign the entire mod team while simultaniously acting completey beffudled as to why we hadn't modded him yet...
I bet the "democracy" people are going to use this as ammo for their campaign

People can already apply by themselves, why do you need a vote to put them up for consideration when by applying alone they are already being considered by both admin and team.
Seems like a waste of time for litterally everyone. Unless of course you are suggesting the winner HAD to be modded no questions asked based off a popularity contest which in itself is even more bias and meant players who aren't very well known but with good morals and understanding of the rules would never even be considered and the louder players part of bigger skype group chats would just endlessly be modded.
The idea is flawed and far from fixes the problem of nepotism by just switching the group that decides.

But mods suggesting somoene can also be rigged
unles you're implying people are actually buying out moderatars support (they're n ot) this only happens in the forom of nepotism andt hat 'ds kind of inevitable to an extent
Yes but it don't have to be exact buying because also friendship
Oh man you must be feeling so lonely. Who gives you a hug when you're down, who talks and drinks with you until you fall asleep, ... "Whatever you do in this life, it's not legendary, unless your friends are there to see it."

But not all mods crosses the same path

If lucid could could code requirements for polls (kudo/karma/points) like with petition then it would help with fairness to elect moderators

Your saying polls for voting mods can be rigged
But its same with the pushing can also be rigged
But mods suggesting somoene can also be rigged Im not saying you have to follow the playerbase but the playerbase voting for that person can help select a good mod since everything can be rigged like that
polls can be rigged, but if you guys want to back a candidate that you really think would do a good job, feel free and i'll take it heavily into consideration. i just hope you take the opportunity to push for someone you really think would do a good job instead of trying to promote yourself because you want to be a mod.
So a mod suggesting somoene can't be rigged is that what your trying to say?

Its atleast mods suggesting their friends to be new mods a mod must be choosed by the epicmafia players itself
