We all know mods are been suggesting by the other mods etc
So what about a new system to elect new moderators
A new section in the forums where all moderator applications will be posted and on those applications Epicmafia can vote on so its more fair choosing the mod for epicmafia by the players of epicmafia
So its -1 votes or +1 votes with a reason why you downvote or upvote
This will highly stop mods suggesting only friends
A mod should be choosed by the players of epicmafia and not the mods themselves
Current template i thought up
Main account:(Whats your main account)
Alternate accounts:(Your alternate accounts)
Why would you be a good mod(explanition why you be a good mod)
What would you do if three poeple gets into a fight with eachother(explaining how you would handle it)
Do you have any prior experience being a mod?
Did you contribute something to the community
Your timezone:
Langauges you speak(sometimes there are games with other langauges but very uncommonly)
it still happened, would still be in place if it were up to the community and you know it.

Not to mention, the angry people have a reason (usually stupid reasons) to be outright mad about getting a vio they deserved. Compared to a person who actually reported someone genuinely. The genuine reporter doesn't thank, but also has no reason to be outright mad.
(edit) and also, the rare people that do thank, are the only proof of thankful people, which is how people decide "¯\_(ツ)_/¯ this mod is corrupt because they only got 1 thanks but 100 hate comments"

Do it.

As for Howl - not only would that not be allowed to happen again; but if it's an argument about whether or not he'd be a good mod - well, he'd still be a bad mod.

Right now, we are trying to get this democratic system in because mods right now are taking hate for NOT giving the appropriate vio and are also accused of being corrupt.
You seem to forget that for every correct violation you give; you make someone happy, as well as someone angry. And if you talk respectfully to the person you violate, you can actually make them happy, too.
People just don't do that anymore though.
You seem to forget every user on EM holds a massive grudge even for the smallest thing you do. I get auto-negged by 7 people because I have reported them before. Some of them didn't even get a violation and I don't remember reporting half of them but I can always count on them negging my posts.
I've only had one person be like that to me (s/o to shamzy)

mist, if ur pissing off a whole bunch of people, u are probably a bad mod. sure tho, community opinion might be driven more by weeding out the bad than electing the good. still works with trial and error

I never had to do an unpaid internship because screw that.
Unpaid internships often have a negative impact because if you did work for free once everyone assumes they can get it from you.
True. I've had that issue with people wanting me to do graphic design for work them (bussiness cards, flyers, etc.) and then when I ask for pay they go, "Why would I pay you for that? I can do it myself!" BYE.
Then they open photoshop, slap down a really bad looking gradient, throw some text on top in Comic Sans, and call it a day.
That is the most frustrating part about design... people's font selections are just absolutely horrid.
I just use selections from Google fonts these days, my design skills are horrid but most of the fonts there are ok.

Oh and by the way. Mods should also be willing to take hate for giving the appropriate vio. So I don't know why you guys are worrying about that. Right now, we are trying to get this democratic system in because mods right now are taking hate for NOT giving the appropriate vio and are also accused of being corrupt.

When you do something right, people aren't aware you've done anything at all.
This is outright wrong. The amount of PM's I got from people thanking me for the help was a long way from negligible.
I got plenty of PM's too but anger burns brighter and longer than contentedness, yo.
Maybe it does; but that doesn't mean that people forget you doing good things. Just because they expect it doesn't mean they don't appreciate it. They just don't comment as much.

I mean yes, I would generally put a lot of effort into not leaving people with a bad taste in their mouth after I dealt with them and there were certainly people who were appreciative but the fact is angry people do a lot more damage than satisfied people do good.
you should answer my question

well i remember the howl situation which was community driven. i wouldn't be surprised if that happened again to a mod for other circumstances.
what was that? i either wasn't here for it, or paid no attention
