Moderating

I want to hear feedback from the EM community and I'd like to know what you'd like to see happening in the moderation team. This is a thread that everyone is welcome to express their likes/dislikes about the team, what needs to be improved, what should stay the same, what should be HC/ what shouldn't.. just a few examples.

I'm asking for constructive criticism, please don't be rude. This is the first step into making the moderation team better and it would really help getting the communities insight on thing.

-What should be HC? What shouldn't?

-Should HC consequences change?

-What changes would make the mod team better?

-Do you guys believe people are reporting out of spite instead of actually being offended?

there's a difference between liking you and your moderation and if you can't see it then you're an idiot either way i still think ur a good person.
i generally don't walk into threads to treat someone i like like shít because i disagree with them on epicmafia.com reports

Why is this a problem?
I think having mains as mods over alts makes it easier so we know who is doing what reports and comment on why they need to get better or are doing well having a alt no one knows as a mod helps nothing

as far as i can tell that's what got him the vio, not the post that tatmi posted.

they spelled it out in a forum then he made the topics after gerry told him not to spell it out in a forum post

You should educate your fellow moderators about actual racial slurs and not overmoderate HC by giving someone a HC violation for typing the word 'N' in a comment on the forums because you "believe" that they have the intent to type a racial slur. That is freaking ridiculous.
nah he deserved a vio for that, and i woulda given him one.

the 2 people who didn't get vios should've gotten a vio though

I thought his vio was for an actual comment and not the threads that were posted?

im ignorant to it because i don't know how it actually works but administration of the site needs to have a workaround imo

admins should have more tools in order to give them visibility on what mods are doing. for example, i think they should be able to see/have a list of reports that are deleted or violations that are changed/blah blah (because imo reports should never be deleted, and they'll likely know of violations that are changed "properly" because of the appeal process)

if thats there already, i have other things to complain about then
the report and forum management system has needed an overhaul for a long long time but every time lucid comes around he gives us something else instead
