I want to hear feedback from the EM community and I'd like to know what you'd like to see happening in the moderation team. This is a thread that everyone is welcome to express their likes/dislikes about the team, what needs to be improved, what should stay the same, what should be HC/ what shouldn't.. just a few examples.
I'm asking for constructive criticism, please don't be rude. This is the first step into making the moderation team better and it would really help getting the communities insight on thing.
-What should be HC? What shouldn't?
-Should HC consequences change?
-What changes would make the mod team better?
-Do you guys believe people are reporting out of spite instead of actually being offended?
Okay, thank you for everyone's pov on moderation. I'll be sharing this with the team. If you didn't get to out your opinion, feel free to pm me. Locking this thread.
ok so every time i call someone a [redacted] and they report me im going to require them to post results of a federally certified IQ test to know if i should really get the vio.
hey burial, fyi it's offensive to the black community if you're insulting someone by calling them a [mean word goes here]. it doesn't make a difference if that person is actually a member of that community because you're essentially inciting hatred against the group the slur corresponds to regardless.

if this is serious then no it doesnt, if anything using the word to describe anyone will actually over time make the word less powerful for example calling someone a 'cretin' is not offensive to a person with a mental illness but it actually originates as a word to describe mental illness.
Just saying, this is about the time where you see your dog is sick, he's not getting any better, and you should let him go while the times are still tolerable. To take the dog out behind the shed Old Yeller style. To chalk it up to a loss and move on.
This thread is the dog. Take it out behind the shed, lock/shoot it, and call it a day.
hey burial, fyi it's offensive to the black community if you're insulting someone by calling them a [mean n-word goes here]. it doesn't make a difference if that person is actually a member of that community because you're essentially inciting hatred against the group the slur corresponds to regardless.
hateful comments is like what minor harassment used to be but on steroids. it's like someone thought "hey remember that really good rule we abolished because it was overused and abused, let's bring that back and use it way more often"
