This is a dedicated thread for users to bounce around and brainstorm on ideas for new roles, items, game mechanics or anything else to improve and build upon our beloved Mafia game.

Back in 2015 Sims made a thread asking if anyone had any ideas for roles since Lucid was looking to make some new ones (found here: https://epicmafia.com/topic/71173?page=1) That thread's dead now, but it's always good to try to bring the community together and come up with new stuff for the game.

Some of you might know my reputation for designing new roles and my passion for Mafia. EpicMafia is a pretty cool website and can always use some new stuff to spice up and remix the usual game formula, and I know a few of you have ideas of your own.

not a good idea

mostly because of invisible man like slon said, but also because in an attempt to get rid of trolls (who you can ban in ranked games anyway or kick otherwise) you get rid of activity by skipping the part where mafia actually needs to communicate

I'm not really sure what I was going for here... I started off with the idea of a guy with a shepherd's crook pulling someone off-stage like in cartoons and then it just kind of grew into "evil shepherd." Oh well.

It doesn't seem like that necessary of a piece to the role. I think the concern was that if they convert in that day meeting while their partner is getting lynched, then they would automatically get a new day meeting.

It doesn't switch partners though, it switches the partners' roles.

Also, cannibalbishop's comment on the role would be a good addition.

I like it, but I think it needs a name change. Going for nouns, the Switcharoo or Substitute might be more fitting?

i dont like it at all. town would just lynch the original partner again the following day. it would take very very very strict circumstances for it to be useful.

This is cool as long as it doesn't apply when Mastermind is in the game. Sl0nd's point about Invisible Man is true, though.

Make sure the Vote Voodoo can't choose mafia, otherwise there would be much abuse.

That's a vio for GT in main and annoying as fabbing teammates in sandbox. I don't think it should be restricted.
