This is a dedicated thread for users to bounce around and brainstorm on ideas for new roles, items, game mechanics or anything else to improve and build upon our beloved Mafia game.
Back in 2015 Sims made a thread asking if anyone had any ideas for roles since Lucid was looking to make some new ones (found here: https://epicmafia.com/topic/71173?page=1) That thread's dead now, but it's always good to try to bring the community together and come up with new stuff for the game.
Some of you might know my reputation for designing new roles and my passion for Mafia. EpicMafia is a pretty cool website and can always use some new stuff to spice up and remix the usual game formula, and I know a few of you have ideas of your own.
NOTE: If you're here to complain about Sandbox moderation or the site mods, please don't.
I'm usually opposed to any role interacting with the graveyard/players in the graveyard as the graveyard currently functions. However, I don't think that idea is too bad, Cubot. It just needs a better name in my opinion.

Well I guess town would lose, or make it guns can kill it as well
Just brainstorming I feel like there should be more main lobby roles
What about finally building a resurrectionist (revives someone the day they die if they are still in the graveyard, resurrectionist dies in their place) I know this would be really hard to code but it would be the ultimate role if built correctly
What about a mafia role which appears as celeb to everyone
That'd just get celebrities lynched in Sandbox and see little play in Main Lobby. Most setups stick to one celebrity anyway and if you have a Maf Celeb in there too it would completely negate any claiming or trust to either celebrity. The only real way I could see it being useful is in a multi setup, honestly.
What about a mafia sided civilian that must be dealt with at night (for main lobby)
OK, all town sided killing roles are dead, how do we deal with the mafia that can only be dealt with at night?
once a game can choose all night actions to be directed at him
sided with the mafia
sounds like toreador
its mechanically similar but, I think this would be used a lot more differently than toreador. There's a lot more of a risk/reward to using it and it has more strategic value
Does it redirect mafia kills onto itself too?
No, but individual mafia actions will be.

logically it would have to exclude all mafia actions
still it'd amount to a more luck-based toreader (either has to wait until there are fewer actions to choose from or has to risk everything when there are more, whereas toreader can adapt each night)
Add a role called "President" (or "Donald") which is a combination of celebrity and civilian. Revealed to all at the start of the game, but if it's killed the game ends. Could be used in some interesting setups.

This could be cool in a setup with vig.
The vig would have the risk of possibly hitting town or hitting the maf/getting directed at imp and the imp wouldn't use their night action if they thought vig would shoot that night.
