We all know mods are been suggesting by the other mods etc
So what about a new system to elect new moderators
A new section in the forums where all moderator applications will be posted and on those applications Epicmafia can vote on so its more fair choosing the mod for epicmafia by the players of epicmafia
So its -1 votes or +1 votes with a reason why you downvote or upvote
This will highly stop mods suggesting only friends
A mod should be choosed by the players of epicmafia and not the mods themselves
Current template i thought up
Main account:(Whats your main account)
Alternate accounts:(Your alternate accounts)
Why would you be a good mod(explanition why you be a good mod)
What would you do if three poeple gets into a fight with eachother(explaining how you would handle it)
Do you have any prior experience being a mod?
Did you contribute something to the community
Your timezone:
Langauges you speak(sometimes there are games with other langauges but very uncommonly)
That'd both make decisions massively more inconsistent; but also make gold hearts and the "Gold Mods" seem even more elitist and disconnected than they do now.

If only we had some form of way to differentiate between the hearts, like separate lobbies, ...
In theory, since there are more red heart reports it would make sense to have more red heart mods, so I don't know why people would lie about which category it would fall under.
A whole-scale rework would be good. A single, blunt change like that would do nothing.

Reports made from clicking on a name in game, categories: Ranked and Comped, okay? then from outside of the game, uncategorized category

at any rate I've had a lot of thoughts on how the report system could be optimized with some cooperation from lucid but this isn't the thread to discuss it.

Discarding legitimate reports was done in the past due to the incorrect syntax on appeals; and it has been and always will be a stupid idea that widens the gap between mods and community.
Given that most reports aren't done from the in-game report system: almost impossible.
Unless, you know, game-type is just a user input field via a dropdown menu?
So that people can lie or 'misclick' just to get their report seen more quickly? Hmm, yes.
fall under report spam

Separate red and gold heart reports. Give the admin the power to choose his or her mods for gold reports/cheating, let the community decide who can mod the red heart reports. This also gives the admin a look at how community chosen mods handle reports and can give him or her a better idea of who to mod
Shamelessly bumping this. Not only would it reduce the workload for rounds and help mods catch cheaters faster (because they wouldn't have to deal with three reports on someone mislynching in fancy pants) but it seems like a pretty fair compromise for people who want the admin to choose and those who want a more democratic approach.
this is a good suggestion
satan seal of approval
The only issue is I don't know how hard it would be to separate the report systems (I know nothing about coding)
Given that most reports aren't done from the in-game report system: almost impossible.
Ingame: Ranked category, Comped category, and Outsideofgame category
I know nobody will read my post but sometimes, when I’m bored, I get wrapped up in a sleeping bag and lather butter all over myself and slide around the kitchen floor pretending I’m a slug.

You should support this, Kyle, it could be your chance to finally get modded.
Though you'd have to stick around long enough and get the community to like you, so maybe not. ;)
i dont actually want to moderate. i have stuff to focus on.

there's plenty that could be done with recoding the report system. probably an issue for another thread.
