A little idea.

So basically, one huge issue this site has is simplicity for newer players. Upon joining an unranked game, which new players are forced to do, you face a couple different situations, all basically bad. You either join a game with a -ton of random roles that is a clusterfuck and scares the player away. Or you might join a game with a bunch of veterans who do stuff without an explanation which just confuses the new player, and likely drives them away. Or you join an unranked game with a bunch of other noobs who have no clue what they're doing and screw it up. In all situations, new players seem to have a tough road ahead of them. It's only the players who are smart and patient enough to learn about the site that will actually end up staying.

So, my proposal is this: Have a beginner lobby, where players are automatically sent to upon joining the site. There they can join one of the couple allowed setups (simple ones) and join a game. Simultaneously, the game will also have a couple of slots for veterans. Essentially, veterans with over 100 games played, may join the beginner lobby and join games. They can join the game, help the new players understand it, and so on. What do the veterans gain from it? Every 25 beginner games a veteran helps out in, they get 1 token (something along those lines)

This whole system encourages veterans to help out, helps new players understand the site, and I think it'd work. I want harsh critique. kThxBye

it's sort of creepy that there are lots of people with multithousand fp games and that giant unranked tables filled with anime avatars are commonplace on epic mafia

never played runescape because when i was into that stuff i was already playing WoW and runescape looked like a downgraded crap version.

what i mean by tutorial game is a game that actually looks like a real mafia game with scripted bots and arrows pointing to everything explaining what they are. make it skipable for people who already know what mafia is.
Happy Birthday Virgin.

tell lucid to code a tutorial game that you are automatically sent to after registering that covers everything you need to know about epic mafia
You mean like the tutorial when you make a new account on Runescape?

The funny thing is that comp wasnt actually dying, sure it was hard to find games in EU time but that has always been the case. The amount of players playing had actually steadily increased to reach 800-900 consistenly and sometimes even 1200. The merge happend way too fast with too many moronos yelling comp was dying without look at the numbers.

Well it is awful for the sizable corps of users who have been around long enough to know that competitive Mafia was the original purpose of EM. This website wasn't always just the substitute for a healthy social life that many people, I imagine yourself included, now consider it to be.

actually training lobby didn't work when we had more users, instead of people upgrading to the """better lobby""", people just stayed in training and it slowly killed the competitive lobby.
Oh no. how awful.
