So basically, one huge issue this site has is simplicity for newer players. Upon joining an unranked game, which new players are forced to do, you face a couple different situations, all basically bad. You either join a game with a -ton of random roles that is a clusterfuck and scares the player away. Or you might join a game with a bunch of veterans who do stuff without an explanation which just confuses the new player, and likely drives them away. Or you join an unranked game with a bunch of other noobs who have no clue what they're doing and screw it up. In all situations, new players seem to have a tough road ahead of them. It's only the players who are smart and patient enough to learn about the site that will actually end up staying.
So, my proposal is this: Have a beginner lobby, where players are automatically sent to upon joining the site. There they can join one of the couple allowed setups (simple ones) and join a game. Simultaneously, the game will also have a couple of slots for veterans. Essentially, veterans with over 100 games played, may join the beginner lobby and join games. They can join the game, help the new players understand it, and so on. What do the veterans gain from it? Every 25 beginner games a veteran helps out in, they get 1 token (something along those lines)
This whole system encourages veterans to help out, helps new players understand the site, and I think it'd work. I want harsh critique. kThxBye
i thought new players learning epic mafia was a big issue, i.e. this thread. if it isn't such a big issue, then nevermind. but i don't think any amount of coding would be too much if there are benefits.

I think that's way too much coding for way too little gain.
self voting was probably a bad example, but that's all it was, an example. i forgot i need to choose what i say carefully because people will pick apart anything they get a chance to.
jesus, this entire idea is not based on teaching people how to self vote. it's a one time learning program teaching them everything and anything they would need to know about a game of mafia on this site. instead of trying to be funny, come up with ideas or don't post at all.
That doesnt matter .. -.- People play however they want. Tutorial or no tutorial. That doesnt help. There are very hard strategies such as HYPO, WIFOM, ROLESWAP. Such players do not know how to perfor them. And will only get confused because every game is pretty much different because of the different people. They have to learn to adapt. Thats why i think 1500 points is too little for actual gameplay. And i think people above that score should be punished somehow for losing.

lucid please don't make an epicmafia beginners' tutorial on how to self vote
can someone tell me if my idea is doable or if it would even help at all
I don't think it'd really work because automated bots can only provide so much in a game that revolves heavily around the reactions of the people playing it and I mean those basics would take around ~1 minute to explain in a RT mafia game either way so there's not much gain.
yeah, what i meant by bots is not have them for an actual game. i meant have them talk only when needed so the tutorial can progress in a scripted way. bot says something like "i claim cop self vote" then the tutorial would freeze, and a box would come up explaining what is going on. you're basically only there to learn not to play a game.

what i mean by tutorial game is a game that actually looks like a real mafia game with scripted bots and arrows pointing to everything explaining what they are. make it skipable for people who already know what mafia is.
Well justrec , imagine EpicMafia 1 year ago. This is what will happen if we split the lobies again. It will solve exactly nothing. People have no motivation to learn anything no matter how the lobies are set up.

I mean... how many here think i am a good and nice guy who will be amazing mod because i keep repeating it, and keep helping the mod team and agreeing with everything i do ?
I do want to be a mod, but i know as long as the same circle of bad mods keeps getting moded, i will never be a mod because of my repotation to be honest.
LUCID, THE ONLY PEOPLE YOU TRUST ARE BUNCH OF MORONS WHO ONLY FOLLOW THEIR OWN IDEALS AND MAKE UP STUFF TO LOOK BETTER AND HAVE THEIR FRIENDS REPEAT THEM.
I mean about this site. . .
want to be a mod?
Well i don't want to be someone who does everything to look good in the eyes of others.
