I made a thread mocking Lailai for modding projectmatt and charley, two ex-mods that, on record, abused their mod powers, after he said that his new mod team wouldn’t be more of the same.
Moderator mascot PatrykScezie AKA dzanek, who dedicated years of his life to posting poorly-worded unsolicited opinions in the comments sections of reports for inconsequential red heart games so that the mod team would eventually take pity on him and let him fulfil his life goal of becoming a moderator on epicmafia.com (before being quietly demodded for being incompetent), made his first thought provoking post ever in response to the thread.
His hot take could be summed up like this:
“Despite projectmatt and charley using their mod powers for evil, they have given verdicts to so many reports that their overall contribution has been a good one. Therefore, they should be allowed to be moderators again. Please re-mod me, my life is meaningless without the ability to rule verdicts to reports”.
As it stands, the only motivation that an intelligent person could have for being a moderator on the site is to misuse their powers. Therefore, unfair actions by a functional mod team is inevitable. To keep these actions in check, there should be a system put in place that ensures that each moderator is still having a positive effect on the site.
Here is an example of the type of system that could be implemented:
Handle a report: Gain 1 point
Have your report overturned: Lose 5
points
Intentionally handle a report unfairly (cannot be appealed):
Spend 25 points
Delete a thread that upsets you: Spend 40 points
Delete one of your own vios: Spend 50 points
Delete a user: Spend
1000 points
In the new world, the only moderators that people will have the right to complain about are the ones that go below 0 points. Moderators will be unlikely to go below their 0 points limit. This means that no one will ever be able to complain about the moderator team and no one will think about the concept of mod abuse ever again.
Moderators here are all little kids in my eyes. Especially Charley needs to be replaced, all I see is her making wrong decisions and abusing her mod power wherever possible. Also appealed reports against any moderator are closed immediately and not even looked at...
And again: It's not about the amount of reports you proceed - it's about the quality you are doing your job with!
although i suppose in theory i wouldnt have that many points because all mods would be doing an even amount of reports which would mean i had to do less
A mod abused me but it was't Charley. I thought everyone loved Charley.. wtf? When i first joined epic mafia , on my first ranked game, I got a gamethrowing vio for innoing mafia.. the truth was I couldn't even explain and Lexio was a dickwad troll. The mafia was named Innovator and I was not able to type well at the time. He had actually inno'd me day 1 in classic. on day 2 I outed that inno was mafia.. and town sheeped the guy who had inno'd me the day before..... and I got a gt vio... SO CRY MORE WHIMPS. CALL ME AN A HOLE.. BUT U HAVE NO IDEA HOW BAD THIS USE TO BE.
Writing multiple revisions is an easy way to improve writing. Wait a few days before moving from one revision to the next so that you can see the writing from the audience's perspective and know what to change.

This is absolutely beautiful, please teach me how to write like you.

It would not be a bad idea now to like implement this. Literally Jess and Charlie no vio appeals on each other without even reading the games/reports
- Moderator with points below X gets demoded, no questions asked - Moderate your own report -X points - Antagonize users and show a lack of professionalism -X points - Get multiple valid complaints -X points
The issue with this is that its a circle jerk and no mods would ever overturn another mods report.
There was a time when 2 out of 3 mods checked an appeal and they both had to agree on the verdict. Sometimes they even gave reasons for their choice

The issue with this is that its a circle jerk and no mods would ever overturn another mods report. I mean this already happens. The biggest problem is that you need to get some adults in power that don't care about a circle jerk and * like that.
Another thing that really bothers me is that the non-circle people were corrupted in the process. Like lailai used to do what is right but now he does what pleases charley...
