This is a dedicated thread for users to bounce around and brainstorm on ideas for new roles, items, game mechanics or anything else to improve and build upon our beloved Mafia game.
Back in 2015 Sims made a thread asking if anyone had any ideas for roles since Lucid was looking to make some new ones (found here: https://epicmafia.com/topic/71173?page=1) That thread's dead now, but it's always good to try to bring the community together and come up with new stuff for the game.
Some of you might know my reputation for designing new roles and my passion for Mafia. EpicMafia is a pretty cool website and can always use some new stuff to spice up and remix the usual game formula, and I know a few of you have ideas of your own.
NOTE: If you're here to complain about Sandbox moderation or the site mods, please don't.
I really REALLY like the Cyborg and its base ideas, plus the idea of expending "life points" to execute actions is genius and needs to see use in lots of places, but I'm really unclear on it and I think a lot of stuff needs to be reworked. I'm still mostly gravitating towards Ben's reform (converting third role), but I think a convincing case could be made for being Mafia or Town (with the right revisions.)
I thought Foxie had a big problem with the discovery of the cyborg:
additionally, as a town role, one needs simply to claim "cyborg" and town receives a clearable invincible role with the effective power of a town silencer-judge to boot
It's not about it being easy, it's about it being overpowered once found.
I think the ability to discover the cyborg by the town fairly easily is good, because then he can focus on trying to garner as many visits as possible before he is discovered.

It should not be impossible for the town to discover if someone is a cyborg. I don't see how the chance that he might get discovered is a flaw in the role mechanics and reason for him to not be mafia-sided. It's part of what makes him a balanced mafia role.
Held item. If the person holding it is lynched, they may choose a person to receive a random item. The lynched player's role will be hidden.
Given out by Cake Maker:
Has a meeting where the cake maker chooses one player. Once per game, during the day, the cake maker throws a party where he/she gives out a cake to the chosen player. During this day, day actions cannot be taken. Cake maker is immune to starvation.
Since certain roles have custom death messages, I would really like it if we could customize our death messages for particular roles.
There would be a default death message if someone didn't feel like writing custom messages, then if we wanted we could further write special messages for certain roles.

I cannot decide because in some situations Tracker works fine, but in others it's Watcher that gets it. I'm not sure, I'd say Tracker but you should make a poll
Whatever the logic is, I don't think people who are drunked should visit.
Can you please fix watcher and tracker? The visits don't work the same for both.
For example, watcher can't see priest selfvisiting, but tracker can. And drunked players still visit, but don't perform action and that is a problem in ranked... And it affects Sandbox as well: if somebody is roleblocked but visits Santa, Santa will not get a report even though the roleblocked player in theory shouldn't visit because he's either drunk or kissing hooker.
Snakist - when snakist is in the game, you can challeng someone to a snake battle at night. If snakist wins 2 matches in a row, they win eith whoever wins. If they lose a match, they get revealed. If snake match is not over by end of night longest snake wins. If the person snakjst challenges is in a meeting, everyone in meeting watches snake battle.
Lucid, stop everything you're doing right now and make this. It needs a better name, though:

I know that we're trying to keep focused on Duelist and Cyborg as the last two roles for this wave, but I'd like to throw out one more idea I had. It shouldn't be as complex as the other two are.
Sectarian (third party) -At the beginning of the game, everybody is divided into two groups: desirables and undesirables. The Sectarian will know who's been sorted into which group. -If every undesirable dies, the Sectarian wins. The Sectarian cannot win if dead. -The whole of one faction will never be fully sorted into one or the other category (i.e. there will always be both mafia and town marked as desirable and undesirable.)
Slight edits:
Divide the players into Group A and Group B, and one group or the other has to be completely wiped out. This makes it a little more balanced and more unique than "lyncher that's okay with other kinds of kills and on multiple people."
Secondly, the Sectarian should be a hostile third; that is, if its win condition is met, the game will end right there.

Engineer - during the night if he is not visited, he builds a turret. During the day, he can 'aim' the turret at someone. It will notify the town 'The turret is aimed at Dan'. If the turret is aimed at someone, any knives or snowballs thrown at the person will be instant kill. Any guns shot will not reveal. Any guns pass through vests, can kill tree with a turret, etc. Sided with mafia.
Dream werewolf - turns into a werewolf once the werewolf dies. Can not be eaten by werewolf. Sided with third party.
Town werewolf - guesses who someone is not, instead of is. If they are that role, town werewolf dies. If they are not that role, town werewolf survives.
Noticer - can silently kill someone during the day, with no red text or anything. Does not attend mafia meetings.
Time traveller - sided with fourth party, can travel into the graveyard for a short period of time and talk with all the dead people. This role obviously would only be used when you're playing epicmafia with a group of friends (e.g those russian games) and you make your own.rules and use this role however you like.

Shadowbanner - someone thinks they're talking when no one can see them talking. Really lonely, especially the first few seconds when you try and figure out if youre shadowbanned. Sided with mafia.

Wockmaker - werewolf combined with clockmaker, if he eats correctly his clock goes up.
Doctective - doctor and detective at the same time
Conversionist - once per night, picks two people. If they are maf + town, they swap. So e.g if he chooses doc and hooker, hooker becomes drunk, and doc because a mafia sided doctor (can pick his partners). Or if he picks celeb & terrorist, celeb becomes maf sided celeb & terrorist becomes town sided terrorist. They are notified of this change. If he picks town + town, he is notified it doesnt work. If he picks maf + maf, he dies. If he picks third party with anyone, he gdts revealed. Sided with third party wins if he gets 2 succesful swaps, or survives until the end while naked.
Moneyman - during the day if moneyman is in the game, money ticks up every second. On the right there is a claim button for anyone except moneyman to use. If they claim, they claim the money and no one else gets it. There is a 50% chance they'll get revealed, e.g 'cubot claimed 20$!'. At night, they can use this money to visit the moneymans shop (it will show them visiting him). They can buy a bread, snowball knife crystal gun for money, leftover money going to moneyman.
Chinese whisperer - chinese whisperer chooses an order for the town. E.g if A B and C are playing, he could choose the order B>A>C. Then during the day, players whisper 1 sentence each in this order, with a 10 second timer or they get killed. E.g B whispers to A 'who we gonna kill' then A whispers to C 'B says to kill you' then C whispers to B 'did you say that' then B dies because he took too long. Chinese whisperer activates when he dies, like virgin. Nice way to kill off any afks. Sided with 4th party, which cant vote during the day and are just useless and cant win.

Retributionist The retributionist can choose a user to avenge each night. If that user passes away during the night, the retributionist receives a gun to try to avenge their death. Sided with the village.
Due to popular demand, the name is changed to Avenger.
