I suggest that we add closed roles in main. Why, you may ask, as it's the thing that Sandbox is known for.
It is. However, Sandbox is also known for being a lobby in which very few people actually cares about what happens and thus the games get full of trolls, and people that just dont play the game properly.
And there are quite a few people that would enjoy playing closed roles setups with a bit more of seriousness. people that don't think there is a strategy for closed roles setups cleary havent played them enough, as in the ocassional serious sandbox games that happen now and then, there is a lot of tactics, role knowing, and speculation people can do, and it actually can be quite interesting.
Closed roles can't be used in ranked games, so it wouldn't ruin the competition in any way.
Yes, I know not everyone takes games seriously in Main either if they are unranked, but in overall, the userbase here is more game-oriented than in sandbox.
People in main that just don't like closed roles games can just... not play closed roles games, so that wouldn't really be an issue either.
idk, i think its worth arguing about it, unless there is a specific reason why they are not a thing here that im missing, which could be.
yeah i actually agree cub. i think there could easily be a way for red hearts to be taken more seriously depending on the setup, and comp only being ran every few weeks rather than every 10 days. literally anyone could win if they just kept trying because its a constant opportunity.
meh, i miss competitive a lot. but it won't unmerge. the merge was fought for for sooooooo long before it was even considered, i cant think of anyone who cares enough to fight for an unmerge lol
Rose, it wasn't all about the round. I've never had an interest in the round, but I did enjoy being in an environment where good plsy was revered, reads were recognised, people were more analytical based on interpersonal meta, hammers were remembered, and rivalry was high.
true but there had to be some way for people to make the jump and nobody was so i feel like that was the only option. of course there was always waiting it out for people to come on their own, but like, ok, look at this: https://epicmafia.com/round/214
it doesn't seem like more than 9 people made a genuine attempt to run, which means 33% win(right?? im bad at math whatever) how "special" does that make anyone feel?

there are some pretty ways to play this game foxie. it ain't all just spam, tho it is for the vast majority of players.
i remember roadman you played basically the very last round with that mortician and you can probably recall how dead it was. but yeah of course people looked for comp on purpose when it was its own lobby but it was more intimidating so people were always hearing how rude everyone was. making it one with training made it seem more inviting
It was really fun getting GT/Trolling vios for risky wifom plays which would have been well received in comp, especially when the reports were handled by sandbox orientated mods.
in competitive you'd be lucky to see a new face every week or fill one game as another was ongoing, meaning that roughly 20-25 people were playing if im being very generous. it wasnt fun at all tbh and there were rly no other options to save comp from being a "same people win all the time bc nobody else is here thing"
Rose you're wrong lol. People found comp because they wanted it. People who happen upon comp are generally the bad players which caused the good players to become frustrated and quit.
