It is an utter disgrace that Anonymous setups have been banned from comp. The unprofessional manner it has been dealt with, makes it even more shocking. Anonymous setups have been banned mid-round without an explanation? (They are not popular is not a reason btw).
I know for a fact that several mods and perhaps admins are not on board with this ban. Heck, Lucid himself has said that he has no problems with anonymous setups in comp. I can point to many rounds of the past where anonymous setups have been played with no issue (pre DUFF era.)
I worked bloody hard to trophy and I want to be allowed to comp the setups I choose. 3 of my setups were removed for a variety of made up reasons. This one is by far the most ridiculous. I want a full explanation of why anon setups are banned.
If your argument is solely against the recent surge of DUFFS setups , I wish to pose you a question. Is it our fault that weve won a lot of trophies recently and want to comp these setups? This is a joke.
Anon setups actually allow for a less biased comp game without the use of meta and ogi.
Please give me more than a one line response. I want the name of whoever decided this. Answer for yourself.
vilden i want you to know i like you as a person
*AHEM*
Anon setups are completely competitively viable, and were often used in comp setups all the way through 2012-2013. Some of these were played as *the main setup* in some rounds. (Anon mario SDS) The reason Anon stopped being common in comp is that Riddler found a bug where if you're talking at night it shows a bubble (Something that used to show when you talked) next to the anyone with the same name as what you're disguised as. All anon setups (There was 2 I believe) were removed from that round and banned from comp. This happened late 2013-early 2014. The bug was fixed late 2014 but anon never really got back into comp.
The reasons everyone has come up with for Anon not being comp viable is merely to justify their conditioned opinion that anon isn't comp viable. It's like if you ask someone why FT3 is banned. Barely anyone remembers the actual reason. They'll say something like fool being a role not allowed in ranked games which obviously doesn't make sense.
@Hedger Anyone who roleplays the name they're given is choosing to play poorly, that isn't an argument for anon setups to not be comped. Historically Anon setups provide a more balanced playing field than non-anon, the current group of players have just grown up with anon being taboo (due to the bug) and therefore exert that. That's all.
@Vilden The kk setup had similar instances. The people playing are actively choosing to troll - it's not the setups fault.
Lorelli love your stuff btw :)
