if you got drafted to the military what would you do?

i think i'm technically doubly exempt because i'm an only child who's still enrolled in college, and possibly triply exempt if they don't fudge my vision tests, but that's a boring way to answer the question. if i were drafted i'd probably dodge, because a) i don't believe i could actually pull the trigger b) i have serious serious issues with blindly accepting authority and c) i'm personally against pretty much everything the military stands for and would only even entertain the idea of serving under actual threat of the invasion of my homeland

your in-game personality is an insufferable combination of "thinks he's right about everything" and "doesn't get that sometimes people don't understand what he's saying". i can't tell you how many times i've experienced you making a statement, followed by someone telling you it didn't make any sense, followed by you attacking them for disagreeing with you instead of clarifying. if you were either less stubborn or a better communicator you'd be fine but you don't seem to care about improving either and it makes me want to react to you with a shrug and a vote.

What was it like when you first joined EM? Did you ever regret joining?

honestly not as different as people like to pretend it was. more lawless for sure, and definitely more crude. the gameplay itself was worse on the whole but that's kind of a grain of salt thing seeing as everyone now has 4-5 more years of experience to teach from, so the knowledge required to be "good" is a lot more easily attainable. personal meta was really, really, really awful back then, but at the same time it made it advantageous to be friendly w/ people and i think the userbase was a bit less standoffish; you didn't really get as many of the people who were steadfastly refusing to reveal any personal details about themselves because "its just a mafia site, you're not real people"

recreationally no, but i've absolutely been addicted to things i've been prescribed and know exactly how awful withdrawal feels. i'm actually more tame w/r/t drugs than people tend to expect, but that's not due to lack of curiosity so much as lack of interesting people to do them with

re: classic rock/country the answer is probably as simple as attached memories. not that many people listen to music for the sake of the actual music and when you think about the age people are exposed to rock and how it suits them vs the age people are exposed to something like johnny cash it makes sense. of course you're gonna feel a stronger emotional connection with the music you listened to during your formative years.

What is your opinion on DatErica?

she has good intentions and i hope she's happy wherever she is in life, and i don't really regret that entire thing because it was a massive self-improvement catalyst due to not wanting to end up like *that*. still, i have a really tough time forgiving people who misrepresent themselves to make other people like them, even when they're not "lying", and i think deciding to be totally done with her as a person mightve been the most relief i've felt at one time in my entire life. i probably should've ended things there months before i did, because i mentally checked out pretty early and that wasn't really fair to her, but at the end of the day i'm glad that there are no "what if"s whatsoever about that entire thing

2. i think it's the the whole moxie thing. not because connor got catfished, but because ling was seething for MONTHS because she picked connor over him even though connor lived halfway around the world and she claimed to go to a college 20 minutes away from ling. his anger for connor over a girl that didn't actually exist was truly irreplaceable lore.

brave new world is a sucky book really imo, but i'm biased as heck too i suppose. still, it's a big gay dream of being put gently to sleep, a flashy mobile over a dumb child's crib, not really any escaping that. orwell's stressing the boot and wariness of it is right, even if you don't believe there's such thing as a utopia.

Good concept, poor execution although not as poor as Orwell's. Seriously, George Orwell writes like a fourth grader
