Telling people "KYS" - not a ban?

Since when is telling people to kill themselves not an instant ban. I remember when i was a mod, if somebody told someone else to kill themselves and it wasn't a joke (not that it's a good thing to even joke about) it was an instant ban. Pretty sure Lucid made that clear to us when we were mods. Now when i reported somebody for it, they just get a warning? When did this change?

If it did change, it needs to be changed back to an instant ban. 1st: 24hrs 2nd: month. 3rd: site

Ofc there are fringe cases where there really isn't any other way out. E.g. I think assisted suicide should really be made legal because there are some people with physical conditions that cause them to be in agonizing pain every waking moment of their lives.

It might not be "nice" to say, but I don't really care. I don't normally say kys unironically, but that's my stance on the issue.

You literally just quoted out the part that he said "I never said suicidal people are weak"

He is talking about the people who completed the act

I strongly disagree with my boy SHERK on this one. Suicidal people are not weak. Also we never know what people are going through, it isn't very nice to say that if someone kills themselves over being told "kys" that you don't care about them. I think that is a rather sour viewpoint personally.
I did not say suicidal people are weak. Everyone goes through chit. It is not abnormal to have suicidal feelings during dark times.

that isnt to say ppl need to be banned or not, i dont do it and dont have ppl do it to me, only ever got those words said to me ironicly, but strikes me odd how the mental state of the ppl who are on the receiving end of this abuse is being so discussed, when clearly the most distressed party seems to be the one doing the abuse

This is more a debate of whether we should punish people for lacking human decency because I think we’re all aware of most of the intention behind “kys”. I think a continued lack of decency should be punished. Sadly, we can’t really protect mentally ill people, they have to protect themselves. The world is shïtty and yeah, I don’t think it’s ever gonna change.
