Instead of getting nuked they'd just get starved to death by russia, they were good at that. If you are going to believe a narrative I think it'd be better to believer your own countries. But maybe that's just me in believing everything is propaganda.

Those are facts.

Right, and then after hours of personal negotiations he decided FDR was a trustworthy man who he would throw his chips in with, which he was. Sadly, Truman came next, objectively betrayed Stalin and nuked two cities full of civilians just to make Russia scared, and the rest is history.
Stalin didn't even want to fight Germany he wanted the west to fight it out amongst themselves so they became weakened and paved the way for more revolts.

For all of Stalin's faults, he believed in keeping promises. It was not until FDR died and Truman immediately renegged on his commitments to Stalin and Russia that Russia became our enemies.
In fact, there was zero need to nuke Japan. Russia was scheduled to invade the Japanese mainland the literal day after we did it.
There is tape of Truman saying he dropped the bomb to: "Show the Russians what we have now. They'll never develop one"
