Yeah so, a lot of people really miss the classic icon set.

They feel they were somehow 'classic' or something idk it's weird. I don't buy it but a lot of people feel this way. Like a lot. So you should bring them back as a side-option. New roles keep the new icons.

then you have ones overly detailed you cant see what its supposed to be, you have some people looking left, others looking right, some roles looking too similar to other roles, its just not ideal.
This. When I can't recognize classic setups there's a problem.

tfw i search on the forums for how to get classic icons back SO I CAN READ THE LOBBY and find out that it isnt an option anymore

yeah, i'll think about it, the best system is one where people can selectively replace each role image with their own, defaulting to Blave's when it is missing

Hmmmm lucid I don't think it's necessary to have a system where everyone chooses their own icons individually.

I suspect there is nearly zero demand for people wanting to pick and choose each individual role icon, they just want classic icons for the sake of nostalgia.
not nostalgia, the icons are consistent and easily distinguishable. blaves icons, blue, nilla, doc, and cop all look fine. simple and updated. then you have ones overly detailed you cant see what its supposed to be, you have some people looking left, others looking right, some roles looking too similar to other roles, its just not ideal.
