The mod team has recently been discussing how to moderate hipfiring. The current precedent is to consider it a trolling violation in red heart games and a game throwing (GT) violation in competitive games.
We're deciding between the current precedent and two other options.
Trolling throughout. The idea behind this is that game rules are game rules and that moderation should be standardized between red and gold heart games.
Game throwing throughout. This plays to the idea that the action of hipfiring is generally done without "playing to win" and as such falls under game throwing.
Please vote in the poll and if you feel that you have a point that you would like to make, post in this thread. If you have another option that you think is viable, please also let us know!
To me gamethrowing is something intentional that you do with motives, like getting someone to win or stopping someone else from winning. Not even grudge gamethrow here
while the only motive of trolling is to get reported or to get a rise out of people, which is exactly what people who hipfire have in mind when they do it. Unless if it's grudge, then good for them.
your argument sucks because if it's both trolling and gamethrowing then the harsher violation is in fact always supposed to be given, also you can gt by trolling, in which case you should get gt, not trolling

hipfiring is undoubtedly trolling. there's absolutely no legitimate reason to shoot randomly as the sheriff or deputy. the reason it should be GT in competitive games is because they're clearly more serious
When you guys are mafia and you're picking the night kill don't you sometimes just *feel* like someone is PR so you choose them based off of that instinct? You just know they're flipping mafia... you just KNOW.
That's how I feel when I have a gun in my hand that causes me to hipfire 2 seconds into the day.
I promise you I have won all of the games I've hipfired in.

Focusion: an unironic fusion of the words focus and fusion.
Hip firing can often be town sided depending on who it is you're shooting. For instance: if you're shooting xxerox or maymay before they effectively re*ard the town then it shouldn't be GTing
