https://epicmafia.com/game/4650359/review here is an example of mafia abusing the new rule to kill a clear, they were not in autolose.

fwiw if we can't reach a compromise here I'd be down for removing the meteor, it'd make mafia more fun and less mechanically-oriented in those situations, you can get reads or tells from things such as killing inside or outside or nking or saving etc
then we will be able to extend games to 5 hours and there's not a damn thing anyone can do about it

This site plays the most mechanical setups that I've ever seen.

Don't even get into the gun debate thing cause you don't know what you're talking about on that front. What you need to be doing is convincing best friend togepi to get this abysmal rule changed

Also, no one would gain an advantage from a doc save other than the town having the clear, mafia wouldn't have to take a penalty for it (and as the way it stands now, town wouldn't have to take a penalty either......)

You can't compare it to before because town never NL'd at 4-way.

Or 6-way. Or any MYLO unless they had a useful investigative role.
well it was on town to lynch back then UNLESS mafia hit into a save (then they would go for doc).

if they just kept hitting the save then the save and doc would claim and the game would change from there as there would be doc ccs with the possibility of one or two (different) saves.

That was ok. Which is why I'm ok with the meteor being removed. But since we have a meteor, town should not have to pay for guessing who mafia's kill target would be. Mafia should have to kill outside. We cannot make the town have their doctor claim. We cannot force the town to make a play when it is the mafia who are at the disadvantage from having their kill saved.

The meteor being removed altogether would solve a lot of problems however and would rebalance some things too. I never considered this possible because I never thought lucid would do it.

You can't compare it to before because town never NL'd at 4-way.

Mafia killing clear on meteor night = game continuing

doctor saving on meteor night = game ending.


if you don't want mafia to kill your clear on meteor night lynch them before it goes to meteor night.

They wouldn't go on forever because mafia never killed into eternity.

just... wow.

i'm very disappointed.

the meteor works. you guys just aren't using it properly. before the meteor, games wouldn't go forever. they would just end with both sides losing at a random point which was even worse. before that? well i don't know i wasn't around.

games going on forever actually wouldn't be a bad thing though, it would force a side to do something without wasting the heart

The meteor is a bad (re: terrible) mechanic that should've never been implemented and I've contacted lucid multiple times about having it removed.

It was initially put in place to prevent Mafia from indefinitely NK'ing.

For now, either play with the rule that's set in place, or don't play.
