you want someone to die who isn't clear so that you can lynch mafia with better odds. don't be dense; town is clearly not NLing just so a clear can die
If you make a "controversial" decision prepare to hear some backlash. Yes it might be annoying to hear it come from the same people or see different threads on it but that's how it works. People will voice their concern if they want something changed (and btw people will always fight change). It's a very poor response to say "we discussed this we are not changing it"; there were mod teams before that changed the ruleset, no?

Damn.

Is that because most, if not all of them, have heads with hair?

I want moderator heads to roll at my feet, not join them.

Nice big paragraph blog-ish post ScubaSteve, do you want to be a moderator?

I don't ever recall the 'meteor' occurring in any game, primarily because people had the integrity to not make the game go further than D10-12.
there was definitely a time where it would randomly go "no one wins! this game was ranked." after a bunch of nothing happening. i tested it with friends once
maybe it wasn't random but i don't know what the formula was for it
I guess the main takeaway is that you had to go out of your way to test it because no one actually let it get to that point. Either way, given the current playerbase and its tendency to abuse the meteor, lucid should get rid of it completely.

I still like my idea where a random person dies if they keep nlling. It keeps everyone guessing
i'm pretty sure somewhere in this thread that i'm not gonna reread giga said the meteor would randomly hit if the game went on for too long, which is why it was changed to the way it is now

This rule wouldn't be a thing if the completely flawed concept of the meteor didn't exist in the first place, and I agree with Giga that it should be removed entirely.
and what happens if neither side decides to lynch or kill?
Then both sides get punished with a never-ending game for being complete idiots.

That was never an issue before Devante.
Though it might be one now, if only because the age of the average EpicMafia user has gone down with ~3 years and the game is vastly different. Either way I'd rather deal with that when it gets there.
