You're misinterpreting me because all I had to say is that not everyone agreed things weren't better back before the merger, I remember a sizable amount of players being unhappy with it and insisting that training were ruining their precious games

This site will literally never die. I'm 100% sure of this. It has passed us by and nowadays the entire community revolves around playing the same damn simple setup over and over again, but it will keep living. Even if Lucid stopped doing a single thing to this site, it'd still keep going.

IMO a better solution to that is as follows:

-Stop the registration crap where I need to have 1500 score on this lobby to register, just register everyone by default
-Remove the concept of gold hearts
-First five red hearts played on official setups for the day count.

It resolves everything and has no disadvantage.

The point of red hearts waas to have fun and do whatever we wanted, but now every fun setup is banned even from red heart so they're pointless.
