Blacklist Classic Mafia

deleteddeletedabout 11 years ago

Blacklisting fancy pants is a freaking awesome step that you just took, mods. However, classic mafia is mechanically the exact same setup

Please please follow through with the awesome decision you have partially made and destroy the scourge that has plagued us for years instead of just one head of the hydra. Compared to what was expected, fancy pants has died with very little commotion.

He was more active between the Arcbell to Bronto period, obviously because of the site almost dying. When I was first modded under Laexio he would have "mod meetings" with us telling us what he wanted us to do and reacted to things we did that he didn't like, but nothing past that. During Jaspers term he was practically non existent, Jasper and Vancy did a lot of things that if done during the period Laexio was admin he would have flipped but they all went by unnoticed. Trophies also used to be a big deal to him. I assume he has stopped looking at the forums now.

Was the lack of communication with him one of the reasons for you quitting?
He was pretty good overall up until Dez resigned and I told him I was quitting. It wasn't really Phil's lack of communication. I was getting tired of the environment and was worried that I would start to slip and do a bad job. He was actually pretty responsive for most of my term.

Actually I'm still out of the loop on why the old mods left. Anyone got a link?
something about an argument, bell quit and all the mods went with her

Too lazy to read the whole thread so someone might have said this already, but none of those setups are the problem. All of those setups could be played competitively (arguably) given the right players. The problem is the people who are not only learning suboptimal play, but teaching it as well. Blacklisting it will just make those players ruin setups like bv and vdli

50k sounds excessively high for AdSense. Not many people rake in that kinda dough from it.
That's assuming that the only income is from AdSense.
True but look at all the old training people and sandbox people without token purchases. Tokens aren't even really sustainable income without either constantly adding new features or large influxes of new players.
Eh, not true. It's not about adding new features so much as adding features that people are willing to pay money for, which he has. I have no idea what his traffic levels are though so I can't comment on that.

yeah, after I told him I was quitting he really went silent. Vancy never got a reply email during his entire tenure. It's a lot harder to do your job as admin when he's not around.
the only time he really responded and did something is when I told him we were tired of being targeted to get hijacked and were about to leave, then we left anyways

I don't particularly agree with the way Lucid has been handling the site for ..ehhh the past two or so years, but I have to give him some credit. He used to be very hands on and cared a lot about what the community wanted until we were absolute trash to him, and that's when he started playing hardball.
yeah you can't really blame someone who is tired of incessant complaints about every little thing. there's a reason lucid is really hands off these days.
With that being said, I wish that he would be more open to what his mod staff and admin (not this one) suggest to him for improvements. I'm kind of just along for the ride otherwise.

u are allowing him to by still visiting the site, quit this sh*thole and he'll learn
deleteddeletedabout 11 years ago
yeah man, because we, as people who are here of our own free will and pay nothing except money we choose to pay, deserve better. It's not like Phil is collecting taxes.
