Ok, so

This site is... kinda bad. I have spent a long time on this site and it has not seen one bit of improvement. The player base sucks, there are numerous glitches that the administrator is not around to solve, and it is overall becoming a negative experience for me.

I have seen a ton of my friends quit the site over the last few months. The most important of them was appleofmyeye. And while I still have a lot of friends here, knowing nicole would be with me made me come back happily. Knowing she is gone leaves a void in this site that cannot be filled.

I have been beginning a lot of IRL stuff, such as joining the golf team at my high school, and many other cool things that are picking up and I just do not have the same kind of time as before. This is why I am considering taking some time off of the site. And I will. I will be back within a month I am sure. I have a bunch of you on Skype and stuff, so we can still connect there.

TL;DR: This site is becoming cancer so I am leaving. Bye

Common sense is looking both ways before you cross the street

Well yeah, Bill, but that is what the Appeals system is for. Except now most mods will throw a hissyfit if you vote to OT their reports.
not enough egos on the team for this to happen rn

What you actually want are the report machines who sat in the background and made it possible for the movers and shakers (who you do need a couple of) to get their stuff done.

Sadly; they're a lost breed.

i feel like the atmosphere right now is stagnant enough to have movers and shakers than report machines

the only good mods are the ones that don't take modding seriously

nah, i just want the movers and shakers to move and shake during "moving and shaking" time, and not during "do reports" time

setting a strict precedent in gray areas isn't a bad thing
good thing: a gray area report leading to discussion outside of the report
bad thing: using a gray area report to try and shift the rules in your favor by creating "precedent" on a site where precedent has never meant anything unless it was convenient
Precedent only meaning things when convenient is because no report outside bog-standard GRS is ever the same and every time someone tried to enforce rigid precedents it led to a bunch of idiotic scenarios where people got vios they didn't deserve or got away with things on dumb loopholes.

Hence why common sense is better. It just requires mods with enough of it.
the biggest issue w/ statements like this is relying on teenagers on the internet to understand what "common sense" really means

like it's such an easy concept but it's one of those things that people at their most idealistic, impressionable, and emotional ages think they understand better than they do

modding is actually really easy and i imagine half of the website could be capable mods if they understood the rules decently enough and could take constructive criticism
i think it's less about understanding the rules and more about understanding what your job is instead of feeling like it's your duty and obligation to be one of the movers and shakers of java mafia

the biggest issue w/ this site's user base is, always has been, and always will be lack of perspective
id rather have the movers and shakers than the demotivated and only in it for the perks that seem to saturate most of the team these days
