/META/ is unavoidable and is integral to the game. Meta /ABUSE/ is incredibly avoidable. Jesus christ learn to read.

You seriously aren't going to sit there and tell me you're not going to yak someone who you think is better at the game,will likely carry the scum team to victory and won't be ML'd on rather than someone who would.
Because you are and when you do that you're exploiting the meta of knowing some high profile player won't be ML'd on to your advantage.

No, no it's not. The reason my cc gets autolynched when they're ccing me as pr in vdli is because its freaking stupid to cc pr in that setup, and no other reason. Meta abuse in of itself is incredibly avoidable, and intentionally using it is a crutch.
Selfshrinking ups your personal win chance but lowers the overall win chance of town. Shrinking someone else ups towns win chance but lowers the overall win chance you have.
There's plenty of people that just autolynch people that self shrink though so be advised, it doesn't turn out that well some times. I personally shrink other people because it gives my town game an edge. (Although, the option to unequivocally force myself into town is very appealing.)
When DLYG was popularised in training ~3 years ago it was considered "the correct play" to shrink someone else.
