The less you listen, the louder the community gets. This is 101 logic but instead the offical policy seems to be to ignore it so you can't add fuel to the fire, and bury your head in the sand.
AdrenalineMimeover 11 years ago
there's still a lack of a bridge between fp (basically unranked-tier) and gold hearts
arguably you could just throw people into gold hearts but According to the Results, people are scared of that

"Mods suck"

Be more objective

"I got a violation I didn't deserve"

Tell us when and why you think that is

Chat games like party were a fantastic way to bridge the divide and I know I for one did read the complaints in them and try to respond accordingly.

Listening to the forums, listening to the people in games. It's important. You are part of the community like the rest of us. Since the mods became so separate, people feel like they are no longer listened to. When I was admin, I personally responded to every single major Complaint thread. Even if it was just to shut it down because they were obviously wrong. I'd make a post with some explanation because it was my job to do so. I never let there be 100 page threads because I shut them down at the god damn source.

I don't mean to put myself on a pedestal above the other mods but I care about even the tiniest feedback you can give me. It's really important to me to bridge the gap between mods and community.

Because I have a feeling that the mod team is going to take this thread more seriously than the one about sidekick, I will also reiterate this:

If you insist on unbanning former cheaters (which is ridiculous) please impose stricter requirements for them to run. Glacial and Hedger both earned a bronze that they were not given because of sidekick. If a cheater gets away with cheating every other round, competitive mafia will become unsustainable very fast.

When do the mods really talk to the community in person anymore? Party games, for all their circlejerking, were a place when mods and users came together and they did raise valid points sometimes.
I don't know who you are referring to but I'm being myself when I'm posting about my opinions lol

This site isn't owned by a company so you shouldn't really be expecting any admin/moderator to try their best to get the community's opinions that much Riot, you know this as much as I do.

There are always mods who care, though. I know I care, I believe Jack and Retti also has shown this and I believe there are other mods who would be insterested in it too but you shouldn't really expect too much like getting in games.

Okay ediz I was going to say. I never insulted Rutab at all in that post. His beliefs are his and I cannot change that.

Making serious posts about the game often results in ridicule because e-popularity is valued more than the game this website is based around in this community. If you are looking for a family friendly community where you can make internet friends you should visit another website like Gaia Online, where I here you can even go to an E-Prom. This website is based around a psychology game which is played competitively. It doesn't take a genius to see that tensions might run high.
Tell me more about this e-prom

When do the mods really talk to the community in person anymore? Party games, for all their circlejerking, were a place when mods and users came together and they did raise valid points sometimes.

I joined the Training SITD clique as admin predominantly in order to hear more of the unranked Training views as they were massively underrepresented. I both enjoyed this and got their views out of it.

Can you see stuff like that happening now? I'm not suggesting one off 25 man games a la Lucid, because they'll get drowned in issues. But doing it regularly, you hear a lot of people's complaints, you see patterns, and you see good ideas on how to fix things.

Hm, I started a topic maybe during the middle of December about how I felt and it turned into people bashing me and what not. But the mods thought that it was funny and didn't do anything about it. You think it's funny to harass someone with mental issues and to hurt their feelings? Some of the mods are cruel and mean and it's not cool. I'm usually not the one to complain about internet harassment, but I'm starting to get fed up with it around here.

If you really want to get a message, the best way is to PM the moderator you would like.

I read your post but didn't mean to ignore you wake, I avoided posting because you could've misinterpeted what I wanted to say, but if you really want it:

No one is going to get fired for having a complaint page of 100 pages or more. It's completely up to the admins's discretion to take an action and the mod complaint threads will bring nothing except that you'll be showing him some information.

I am sure every moderator is trying to take the best decision, as I said we're not your enemies but it is easily getting out of hand when people say we're trying to be against them, when it was never our purpose in first place.

There are always going to be disagreements, but you shouldn't really disrespect moderators like posting half-naked men when it wasn't even the case to start with. (You = community, not you as wake)

I wasn't just talking about today's post, retti, but from other times too.
What other times? The same sentiment is still withheld.

Shitposting and unfriendliness seem to be used as an excuse not to listen to the forums, though.
this is a chicken/egg thing though, because most people are reluctant to make serious posts due to not feeling that anyone's listening
