Epicmafia Survey: Results

deleteddeletedover 11 years ago

Thanks for participating in the survey. It's very important to the mod team to get your feedback and understand what you would to see change.

For the record, I realize the community not being able to reach the moderators is an issue, hence why I'm trying to communicate as much as I can around here.

I'm not saying you should like me for who I am or my actions, but I believe the community should have respect on the fact that I am trying my best to help you as much as possible. As Jackhammer said, we are not your enemies, we are here to help you.

You are always free to criticise the mods but you're more likely to get a response if you don't do it rudely.

there's probably like 2 or 3 cloudminnions

It just really bothers me when someone says "I dislike the way things are being run!" and then they don't bother to tell us what it is. That isn't to say I'm neglecting riot here or anything, I'm just saying that's the general attitude I get from most people.
The moderators have literally zero standards to be held accountable for RN due to the spinelessness in administration
A lot of mods feel backed into a corner due to how volatile the community can be towards them, when they just want to see that they're ultimately happy. That's the whole reason a survey was conducted.
That's because those moderators see themselves as part of the mod friendship group more than they see themselves as part of the community.

Long-term problems with the mod team were very low in 2011, 2012, 2013 and the first quarter of 2014.
this is not true
Compared to now, it is. I'm not taking into account the occasional Lucid-culls because they were and remain uncontrollable, but the drama was much more spread out. Tonkster/Divinity came and went because they were removed. Poor mods were always removed, with the exception of Cloudminnion being under Lucid's protection (which caused other mods to leave).

Now we have an entire team of Cloudminnions.

If there's no threat of being demodded there's no incentive to be not bad

When was the last time someone was demodded against their will, Retti?
Not in a long time. I can understand where you're coming from about this issue but this is something that falls on the shoulders of Jasper to be honest.
I've said as much to him before.

The fact there is no longer any threat whatsoever of you being demodded means that mods just take the pee, and know they can get away with pretty much anything. Examples need to be made of to warn other mods and get them into shape. The resistance to doing anything because of 'community pressure' is idiotic because the mods are part of the god damn community. It's not an 'Us vs Them' thing, but because the mod team is now more friendship group than moderation group, it gets made into one.

"Mods suck"

Be more objective

"I got a violation I didn't deserve"

Tell us when and why you think that is

Anything else I'm missing of blanket statements we receive on a daily basis?

"More information when you hover over a role. Some roles have incorrect information in them (like saying all visitors will be revealed, when only ONE mafia gets revealed, etc). Also, there needs to be a distinction in the rules that following a group of people so you can play the game with them is not lobby camping."
This is an easy fix, which roles are incorrect?

Haha what the hell

Looking at the current moderator team, Oliver is the worst moderator, he abused power against me, and I'm not surprised if he did it against more people, Oliver grudge-violation'd me, I never censor bypassed before so he gave me a note, but then he saying shutup or i'll give you more so I told him give me more and he actually gave it to me proves how bad he are and how easily he can be pissed.

Demoddings due to people making bad decisions or not being active enough were common in 2011, 2012, 2013 and the first half of 2014.

Demoddings no longer happen.

Long-term problems with the mod team were very low in 2011, 2012, 2013 and the first quarter of 2014. Now there are constant issues being brought up about them.

Coincidence?

Probably bronto asking me to step down is the closest thing and that was in october

I could have said no but I didn't since I was nowhere near as good as my first time

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different ultimate result.

Steering away from this takes work, but it can be done. lucid being here would help a bit.

I'm not sure what you mean by Ruthlessness, riot
deleteddeletedover 11 years ago
Quite simple. Ruthlessness is needed to fix the mod team. People like each other too much, with even ex-mods floating around in the Mod Chat, so ruthlessness will not happen.

Another Rutab thread will happen in 2-4 months time, and the exact same issues will be dragged up all over again.
