to be honest, i thought my views would be more center: slightly less libertarian, and much less left, being almost dead-center on the left-right.
the fact that i fall into center-left, with some beliefs heading towards slight libertarian tendencies, but predominantly progressive values, just goes to show how absolutely fkn warped today's politics have become.
and i'm being associated with the alt-right. try to grasp the profound skewing of the political spectrum that represents.
Orly I got a -2.5 for "economic left" & -2.15 for "social libertarian", and have also been ragged on for being "alt right" countless times (not on this site but irl) for my conservative values
100% agree with you on how fked up politics have become. Both sides of the political spectrum are approaching their extremes bc a lot of people are ignorant/intolerant of beliefs that don't allign with theirs. The mass media preys on this and basically assigns you an agenda to follow depending on which side of the spectrum you allign with more closely.
The moderates who don't fully agree w/ their "side" just get spit on by both the left and the right, so they don't have any incentive to stay openly/actively involved in politics. The media only really cares about what the extremists have to say anyways, so that's why I think the "left" and "right" have become synonymous with cookie cutter platforms that most people don't fully agree with.
