How many genders are there? (if they even exist). How many sexes are there? Are liberals living their crazy world or are the conservatives living in a different century refusing to accept facts as the liberals claim?
2 genders, but at the same time, some may be more feminine, some may be more masculine, doesn't mean these people invented new genders what Scrooge described is a more feminine male who dresses as a woman but when he takes his make up off he looks like a man again because... that's his gender.
unfortunately that's the consequence of having to live within these frameworks that you had no real choice in being born into. discarding that shiit is hard
So I'm grossly simplifying it rn, but it's the best way to explain it tbh. Keep in mind it's about more than appareances. There's also social and psychological factors.
Imagine you see someone who dresses like a woman. They wear a skirt, they wear make-up, their nails are painted etc etc. Now the next day you meet the same person, but this time they dress like a typical male. They have a five o clock shadow, they are wearing mens clothing and have dirty fingernails.
This person tells you they refer to themself as non binary/agender. What that means is that they don't identify with neither/both femininity and masculinity.
people want to ~be rational~ and think science is the ultimate foundation for that but they fail to acknowledge that humans exist within societal frameworks that were constructed and enforced intentionally with zero actual interest in protein sequences despite the fact that yes humans are a biological lifeform as any other. reminds me a lot of 2000 iq youtube atheists
id like to see into the mind of people who believe they are gender non binary. it always makes me wonder why they can't just pick one and go for it instead of having to expect everyone to recognize that youre both
if gender is determined by what karyotype you carry, then did genders not exist before the discovery of chromosomes? Obviously they did, so how did we know how to identify the difference between a man and a woman before in time?
Don't say genitals. They're obviously not an option most of the time. Think of the strangers you meet throughout the day. How do you know what pronouns to use? How do you determine their gender?
The thing is that for some reason everyone here is framing the question to be about biology, but no one is denying the biology. Trans people know that their gender identity and physical body don't line up.
whenever someone brings up intersex in regards to the "gender spectrum," all it proves is that the asker doesn't understand what an intersex disorder actually is.
