I know there are a lot of Pokemon fans out there so i decided to give this idea of mine a try. I'd like to host a Tournament in which people will compete against in each other using a team of 3 Pokemon.
There will be a Group Stage and a Knock-Out stage, in which participants will fight one another twice, except for the Final where there will be only one confrontation.
A group will consist of 4 participants that will aim to finish in 1st and 2nd position so they can qualify for the Knock-Out Stage. Each participant plays one "home" and one "away" match against each other player in its group. One point is awarded for a win and none for a defeat. If two or more players are equal on points on completion of all the group matches, the following criteria are applied to determine the rankings:
The Knock-Out phase pairings are determined by means of a draw, 1st places will be paired with 2nd places giving the former a theoretical advantage.
When a Pokemon defeats another it gains 1 Exp point. These points can be traded for the possibility of your Pokemon to evolve. (More details will be added after i know how many people want to join.)
The Selection Process
The 1st Pokemon will be chosen by each participant from the pool listed below:
The 2nd one will be given by me depending on how i perceive you/your personality. (If i do not know someone i will pm and ask more details)
For the 3rd one each participant will mention one type and they will receive a random Pokemon of that type from Gen I-IV.
After 3 matches there will be an option to acquire a 4th Pokemon. So you can choose 3 out of 4 and mix your strategies for the reminder of the Tournament. (More details will be added after i know how many people want to join.)
At the end of the Group Stage there will be another option to substitute one of the 4 Pokemon with a new one. (More details will be added after i know how many people want to join.)
Game Mechanics
I will use a simulator for this process that will only take into account the team composition and the order in which the Pokemon are used. To increase the odds of winning you have to think beforehand how your opponent will choose to play.
Each round will be simulated in a different day so that people have enough time to PM me their team line-up.

NPCs
Since we need 32 players to start and it doesn't look like anyone is going to join, i've decided to occupy the remaining slots with NPCs. They will have a standard team of 3 Pokemon that will be randomly assigned before each match.

In case everyone wants to change their starter Pokemon now is the time, before the 1st match begins.
I have decided to add NPCs to occupy the remaning spots. Don't worry, i'll try to make them balanced so that everyone can have a fair chance to win against them. Their purpose is to add more flavor to the game and allow us to play with 32 participants.

Haha, tbh yours was the hardest one to imagine but it was picked so that your team will be balanced. With aaron and dratini i had to give you something ok ish that will be closer to other teams. :)
