Epic Nations is a game where you control a nation and interact with nations controlled by other players.You can perform virtually any viable action by just stating it publicly here in this topic or PMing it privately to me.
Each nation can perform up to 3 actions per 24 hours, and those actions can be just about anything (attacking others, sharing resources, constructing buildings, etc). At the end of each 24 hour period I will post a summary of what occurred and reveal the results of relevant actions.
Nations can communicate with each other both in this thread and over PM, although if you do communicate over PM you must include me in all messages you send.
Overall wealth is the only thing I officially keep track of. However, individual resources are still important and will be considered when you perform certain actions.
Keep in mind you can keep your actions private if you wish by PMing me.
There are barbarian encampments scattered throughout the lands, containing primitive people with no internal government who occasionally attack nearby nations. Encampments are located in every civilization's land and can only be removed through several attacks with an army.
Yeah Doug your second action was also moving your nonexistent army. You have to wait until you finish building your army at the end of the day, and even then you may want to further strengthen it before attacking. At the end of today your army will just consist of a bunch of people running around with sticks and stones.
You have not finished building an army yet and therefore cannot attack with your nonexistent army. You can, however, verbally declare war without using an action.
All rulers may sit next to me at the top of the ziggurat, or you may sit in the front stands with the templars (just as a warning, gladiators sometimes get feisty, and the front row can be dangerous)! Afterwards, we can enjoy a banquet in my palace, while discussing ways to exploit our people! Any issues concerning our glorious world can be voiced at the table.
We are all powerful and diplomats, so I am quite sure it will be an enjoyable day.
Transportation to Shwartzburg will be provided. Thus, it will cost about ϛ1,000 (ϛ is the diamond dinar, our currency) for each ruler who attends.
It's pretty much made up as we go. If you have a particular thing you want to make (such as a gun) you can use something like start working toward making a gun as your action I can start you with relevant research.
They are private in that your plan to take the actions are not known to others, but if you your action has visible effects (i.e. attacking a player) everyone will know when the day ends and I post the daily update. However, actions that don't have a visible effect (i.e. spying) will not be revealed in the daily update.
Also, when private actions sent to me I still update the action counter, so use that info to your advantage.
