This is a dedicated thread for users to bounce around and brainstorm on ideas for new roles, items, game mechanics or anything else to improve and build upon our beloved Mafia game.
Back in 2015 Sims made a thread asking if anyone had any ideas for roles since Lucid was looking to make some new ones (found here: https://epicmafia.com/topic/71173?page=1) That thread's dead now, but it's always good to try to bring the community together and come up with new stuff for the game.
Some of you might know my reputation for designing new roles and my passion for Mafia. EpicMafia is a pretty cool website and can always use some new stuff to spice up and remix the usual game formula, and I know a few of you have ideas of your own.
NOTE: If you're here to complain about Sandbox moderation or the site mods, please don't.
Math Teacher ( not sure if village or 3r party yet ) - Every night gives a " HIgher or lower game " to a target and chosses a number - The higher or lower game means the target has to guess the number math teacher selected, it only has 3 lives, and if fails will say if the number was higher or lower - If the target fails, they will die ( if math teacher is 3rd party ) OR be revealed ( if math teacher is village ) - if the target guesses on the first try, they will receive a crystal ball. - if 3rd party, he has to kill 2 persons to win
Sometimes when I'm trying to construct a setup, it's hard to see if all the roles I have implemented will work in any situation.
Currently, only bringing the setup to test in the public can be done, and it's hard to collect the outcome as the players don't bother to respond you whether a role will be working as intended.
I think we need a setup tester that allows one individual to freely switch into any players in a testing game and simulate the outcome.

Make Death Messages keep the red, but give wills black, carols green, dreams blue, and so on. People will be more likely to see them

Five Point Palm -Once per night, can pick one user to strike -That user will be informed that they were visited by Five Point Palm -The user will only be able to say 5 things throughout the entire day, saying a 6th will automatically kill them -Does not attend mafia meetings
-Can punch someone one person once during the day -Punches will daze them, making them unable to use any weapons for the ready of that day -Will make their vote lock, if not voting yet it will go on no one -Sided with the village(?)
Cannibal -Attends Cannibal meeting at night -Cannibals will kill and consume their target every night -One random cannibal gains the target abilities (which will last until it is overwritten by the next ability)
-ALL cannibals die if they consume bomb -ALL cannibals becomes poisoned instead if they consumed poisoner -ALL cannibals are role blocked for the following night if they consumed drunk (but one of them gets the ability to drunk targets) -ALL cannibals are turned into monks if they consumed tree
Miser: -Can choose one person to save every night. -Can choose to save themselves. -If they choose to save someone else, they will lose their ability to save themselves and other healing roles will be unable to protect them. -Sided with the village.
Reporter -Can choose one person each night -Reveals 1 player that visited that person -Dies if chosen person is killed at night -Sided with Village
Deceiver -Can choose one person each night and has a role meeting ( like tailor and werewolf) -Chosen person will be revealed as the chosen role -Sided with Mafia
Fighter Pilot: •Chooses one person at night •A selection window instantly opens up for them (ala: Gambler) •They must select a safe place to hide •Same hiding mechanics as Survivor •Village sided
Barista: •Gives people coffee •Coffee lets a player visit 2 people on a single night •Cop can get 2 reports, vigilante can shoot 2 people, stalker can stalk 2 people, anarchist can give 2 bombs, etc.. •Village sided

I feel like President should be unmade and Secretary should be updated to be like it. Where the town knows who she is and they have to protect her, but maf don't win automatically if she dies because with Secretary atm it's super detrimental to a town win, she should just be mafia in her current state
-If in game, the Cult will be notified that there's a Cultafia
-The Cultafia will act as a factional kill for Cult, so that everyone can vote who to kill or convert
-The Cult can't kill and convert at the same time. If you do so, you will be instead role blocked from doing any action for the night
-If Cultafia is placed as the only cultist in-game, the Cultafia will instead become a Cult Leader (for the time being) and can recruit one person before turning back into a Cultafia
-The Cultafia will have only three shots before turning into a regular cultist
Carries one gun that can be shot during the day. If the gun kills someone, only the Dictator will know their role. Dictator will be revealed when they shoot. Sided with the mafia.
basically a janned sniper with a flaw so it doesnt replace that role
Meeting maf. Once per game, can choose to follow a person (day action like invis) Shadow cannot see the role but can see the vote and has the power to OT the vote of that person.
I'm pretty sure all of this is in the role desc. so it should work like this. As for the will reveil, my personal view is that they shouldn't be reveiled, but I could see why you'd argue

Hardly anyone writes who they visit in their wills anyway so yeah that doesn't need to be changed
