This program is designed to help mafia players of all experience levels (not just for new players) improve their knowledge and skill-set through the one-to-one guidance of mentors. Mentors are chosen as players who have a deeper understanding of the game and are willing to share that with others. As a mentee, you will work with a mentor or mentors at your desired pace and times.
How this will work:
To be assigned a mentor, please comment below. If you are below the required point threshold to post on the forums, please message:
Basic: introduces players to mafia through Classic Mafia, a standard and simple mafia setup. Here, you will be introduced to the basic mechanics and in-game terminology. Any further questions you may have pertaining to the website, game, or tactics will also be answered.
Advanced: based on mentor oversight in ranked and unranked games. The site administrator implemented a function that allows a mentor to see his or her mentee's role without directly participating in the game. They will be able to share their thoughts and give guidance to their mentees. Mentees may also opt to play competitive games with their mentors and debrief when it's over.
Mentors cannot under any circumstance treat you any differently than any other player in a ranked game.

Not what I was getting at but okay lol. The issue here is truly that Nathan has a huge issue with not being able to swallow his pride. That's it.
can you just stop
Yes, I was just waiting for you to ask as you hide behind an alt, haha !
He's being so pathetic about it that he won't even give Dag a mentor because Dag FOS'd him in a game. He's not allowing people to get better.... because..... he is mad.... at them.... over a game.
What days and times are you available to mentor, on a regular basis? Open schedule
What level mentees would you like to teach? Beginner through advanced
Why do you want to be a mentor? Many players settle into a pattern with their play style which hinders their ability to improve. I'd like to share my experience and perspective to help them improve their game. Even seasoned players need a refresher on game tips that become lost over the years.
What qualifies you to be a mentor? Many trophies, consistent participation in comp, and clear communication, and dedication. I'm not going to get bored after 3 weeks and quit.
What would you like to get out of the mentoring program and what would you like to give to it? I enjoy working with people to identify their strengths and weaknesses. I would like to contribute my ideas, methods, and unique resources to the program to establish a foundation for players who might not be integrated into the community and just have fun.
One thing that would help people is if we could all know if a "noob account" was linked to a main account. There is no way for us to identify the real noobs and many on alts just troll and purposely throw on noob accounts. Then we end up reporting these and the real noobs, but we should just be warning the real noobs instead
Last thing to mention is that I think a lot of us have had issues with the official mentoring system. As I said before, I probably would have left if not for vilden adopting me unofficially. When he was banned, I tried to get an official mentor and they were relatively useless. Others had issues with this too and they had different mentors. I think that there may be issues with the mentoring system in general. They really do not have time to mentor so many people, and I do not think that the mentor's get to pick who they train. It may have been that my mentor just hated me/was too busy, but he did not really have any ideas to help me be less scummy and could not help me at all. I got great advice on this from both of my unofficial mentors though and some others on this site... I think the difference though was they picked me and they did this knowing my issues already...

Idea: Why doesn't someone write a strategy for fancy pants advertising the forums, specifically the mentor thread, so that the newly anointed mentors can bring in some fresh blood to comp and the community.
As of right now there doesn't appear to be that many new players coming into comp and this could just be a small measure taken to counteract that.
I think the opposite of this. It should be harder to get into comp. People should have a general idea how to scum hunt and stuff. I did not join comp until I had like 800 games and it was still hard to adjust to comp....
A big problem for noobs is that they get yelled at a lot and reported when they do not know the rules. I got OGI when I did not even know where the rule page was or what OGI was. Around that time Vilden offered to mentor me unofficially and I read the rules. I almost quit then because of the stupid vio though and I started getting reported a lot for nothing..
Why not change the entire moderator team , change the layout of the site with something more proper and helpfull (For tha twe need lucid) and stop chasing players away? Maybe start enforcing rules more?
90% of the new players do not play comp games because of the unfriendliness of the comp players and how no one gets ever punished for anything.
