I'm bored and taking both a code and an art break from a really big coding project so let's try this: a story, written by me, vaguely defined by you. You can add your own doodles if you want.
You are Poontang the Slayer and you've just accepted a bounty: Kill the King. The king's castle is on Harpy Hill beyond the Bosky Forest past the Swamps of Sadness behind Happy Glades a short ways from Newbville where you're currently at a pub downing booze with the Evil Wizard who hired you.
You have a rusty dagger, neckerchief, and charming good looks.
What do you do?

While strolling through Happy Glades holding hands and flirting with Slave Girl, Poontang learns that Slave Girl is actually Paulie the Witch, which is cool because she can do magic. Unfortunately, she needs her spellbook which she lost in the Swamps of Sadness, so until then she won't be much use.
It doesn't seem like a big deal, though, considering how safe and carefree the Happy Glades have been up to this point. There's something big and scaly over the horizon, though - a dragon! It's blocking the way to the Swamps of Sadness!
Poontang & Paulie are fighting the Glades Dragon.
The dragon makes the first move: it breathes fire for 1 damage (7 hp left)! Paulie dodges!
Poontang has the terrible idea to make an omelette from the bad egg, which he consumes before puking.
You took 1 damage from sickness (8 hp left).
Next, he visits the slums to do dirty dealings for more party members. A long-nosed fellow offers to trade one party member for Poontang's fancy new ratfur armor, to which he accepts.
The greasy merchant then skitters off into the rat dungeon to claim the rat king's throne.

New party member: Slave Girl.
Next stop: the treacherous Happy Glades. Poontang and Slave Girl head down the dirt road to their destination...
Poontang braves the village dungeon for mediocre loot in preparation for the deathly Happy Glades. It's a rat dungeon full of rats, which Poontang just skips past to fight the Rat King.
After a short and pitiful battle, Poontang slays the Rat King and crafts ratfur armor out of the its remains.
You took 1 damage from a scratch (9 hp left).
You've acquired ratfur armor (+1 def).
The villagers also reward Poontang for his unpaid and unrequested services by presenting him with a bad egg, which he discards in a nearby dumpster to save inventory space.
Back in town, two destinations remain:
• The Happy Glades, where you continue your quest.
• The local slums, where creepy people peddle various paraphernalia.
