So, I'm not feeling too hot on the profiles this round, even though I'm part of the competition. I feel that a lot of people are making their profiles fitted to what the judges like instead of what they like. This of course might be a winning strategy but I believe that makes a lot of the profiles seem very similar. I see a lot of profiles right now and most of them incorporate old ideas used from others, just with a different coat of paint. I think that people are too focused on neat gifs or cool tricks instead of the actual themes being played with, and that in turn makes it seem like they don't have direction. This is a little bit of a fault with EM because you are quite limited.
I personally don't like using bios all too often and sometimes I fall into the same mentality I'm saying you shouldn't where I put a cool .gif in my bio just so the judges don't mark me down. That in turn is not necessarily what I want out of this, or what is fun to me. Funnily enough, Aug has made mostly meme profiles yet he's still managed to coast through three eliminations right barring the average, so if that goes to show that you don't need to tailor your ideas around what judges like then I don't know what is.

hi guys i didnt give specific feedback for last round but here's a general comment which applies to many of you.
It's cool that a lot of you are making your own embed videos and even matching up the pixels so it fits right into your background. It's a neat trick and it often looks really cool. and while I don't think it ever really takes away from the profile like sometimes a gif avi can, I do think that there are occasions in which it's sort of a missed opportunity. many of you didn't fall into this but some of you did, so allowed me to explain
if you're making your own embed video, you can put ANYTHING in that 480x360 box. It's basically like another bio except smaller, to the side, but you have more versatility. there are times when you really want your background to be featured or you want the profile to be somewhat minimalist, and in those cases, hiding the embed in the background is fine. but in other cases, you could be using that space for basically anything. give it some though, yo.
