This is exactly what I'm saying. Naturally you have to assume or label. My point though isn't asking them what they identify as and referring to them as that to be polite, point is that people label others as they see them and everyone sees things differently and has different exceptions and requirements to be one thing vs another.
To tie it back with if traps are gay or not, if everyone sees a trap differently does that mean everyone sees your sexuality differently.

of course everyone assumes a gender when they see a person. but... yknow... you could always just /ask/. but it seems you don't really care about gender at all, you determine who youre attracted to by masculinity or femininity or genitalia. thats alright. but eventually youre going to get corrected if you assume someone's gender and its wrong. and at that point you can be gay all u want but you wont get the date

I'll explain this quickly because it seems to be a common misconception on this site. Gender isn't static, it's different for each person on each other person. If I showed you a male that dressed like a female to 100 people, you'll have different answers as you whether their gender is male or female. And none of those 100 are wrong because everyone is entitled to view others however they see. So with what you're saying, that whatever the person identifies as dictates your sexuality; if everyone sees the same person in different genders, how is this logic true? That's what I'm trying to say.

Regardless if a trap is a Crossdresser then you cannot call yourself entirely straight(of course this is different if they're actually trans)
Do they identify as a guy? Yes
Are you attracted? Yes
Done deal. Some people are so taken up by calling themselves straight because they think it's either that or go full gay smh there's inbetweeens
You're saying another person determines your sexuality with whatever "gender" they are. But gender is decided by you, not someone else. With what you're saying, someone else decides your sexuality based off how they feel like labeling them self on whichever day.

i feel like this is bait but. what do you mean by traps. if you mean someone thats trans or nonbinary, then you determine if its gay by their gender. if you just mean a cis guy or girl that doesnt conform to masculinity or femininity then who knows. i'd say if youre attracted to masculinity and you dont care about gender then youre pan or something. the same applies to just liking a specific genitalia i guess.
