as one of the players who sucks at scumhunting, no, it is not okay at all to ignore that aspect of the game and no, towntelling should not be the focus. I mean, towntelling is a skill that helps you win, but this is still a badpost.
if u donut practice finding mafai, u wont get better. u should prolly at least try to find the mafai for real as town (even while outing bs reads and filler to towntell) so u can learn to play, and soon u can actually give legit opinions and hammer correctly and wow ur good at the game!
This game is about having fun while not caring if others are having fun or not. If you start caring about other's fun , you will become a cheater like most of our mods.

Wrong. The "point of the game" depends on your role (which is not always the same, luckily). If you're mafia, or at least mafia-sided, it is to towntell and try to force lynches on towns.
If you're town, depends on which one. A blue, a cop, a doctor, a sheriff, a gov... ? Some roles need to towntell more, some need to towntell less.
Would you towntell the same as fool, blue, cop and mafia (nilla, hooker, lawyer, or framer, you pick) ?
Nah. Some people can only towntell (because they suck s'hit at finding mafia). Those people are letting themselves get carried by those who can find mafia which is perfectly okay
