De-mod everybody. Start poll

Ichizonover 10 years ago

So we all know the mods are corrupt af right? Yeah. So what we should do is this. We should take a weekend, suspend whatever round we in or just don't start a new one. De-mod every single moderator. And then pick a whole new set based on the community voting. Like make it so everybody can only vote once and then the top X players become the new mods. However many you want the site to have.

Selecting the most popular people rather than the most competent people is probably not the best idea for any position of power.
I totally agree.
Current mods are 'selected' by other mods and admins based mostly on their popularity in their friend group. competency is ignored. I'm glad to hear you are also against the current system.

Voting does not mean choosing most popular players. People would choose real competent players, may be with one or two trolls. That trolls can be controlled in a way, may be you remove a mod when get gets his decisions removed by appeals too much etc.

But with elections you would get a 'mixed' mod team, that are not a friend group. So that they cannot abuse mod/admin power since they would control and see each other's actions.

I'm aware that an election system is not the perfect solution but much better than the current abuse.

People can say "I'll pick the mod who's best!" But we all know that were more likely to support a friend running for mod who's had almost no experience in modding (or anything that you can count as a job) vs someone you don't know who's had a ton of experience and yes this may not be true for some people but in most cases the harsh truth is it is even if you don't want to admit it

It's a bold claim to say em will be around til the end of time, let alone 3 more years

"Mod team needs to be replaced"

*90% of the mod team leaves and new mods join*

"great!"

*few days later*

"Mod team needs to be replaced!"

*repeats throughout the end of time*

let's elect random individuals that don't get on together and watch the website burn
Mods needs to be people, who can understand from websites to use mod features, who knows em rules and can modify them when it is needed, who knows a decent level of the game and who can have time for here. They dont need to 'get on together'. 'Getting on together' means 'abusing together', nothing else.
