This website is far past the point where having ranked and unranked games in main lobby makes sense.

Both sandbox and main lobby suffer from this weird choice. Unranked games should go in sandbox, which will boost the ever slowing population of 12 person closed setups, and ranked games should go in main lobby.

Without the influx of unranked games being made, competitive games will not be second paged so fast, and thus fill more often, allowing more than 2 setups to be played each round.

after due consideration i'm fully behind segregating ranked and unranked play as well as abolishing the 5/10-game (?) unranked requirement.

unranked games are in no way demonstrative of the climate you can expect when joining a ranked game, and in most cases inevitably turn away new players who are looking for a structured and cohesive experience. instead, much to their disappointment, they find sui races, perceptibly nonsensical gameplay progression, a repertoire of roles that grossly misrepresent orthodox ranked play, as well as a bunch of seemingly random button clicking as a means to an underwhelming end.

stop pretending that ranked games and unranked games foster the same culture on this site, because they do not.

i like ranked.
i like unranked.
but do they deserve to share the same space and transitional value? not in the slightest.

Unlike roadman I think fnoof will actually read what I write and I have 15 pages of theses on this subject right here, so I'm really looking forward to someone trying to disagree with me, because god am I just going to rip their f.ucking spine out and choke them with it.
