they might be, but their primary purpose is foreshadowing for jon's revival as a realistic possibility. they may make a return on the tv series, but it will probably be minor

i didn't like a lot of the ice zombie cgi like when they did the close up of his face and when he was fighting and i thought it'd be cooler when he died
