the waif has always been suspicious that arya was unworthy; more importantly, she has been jealous of jaqen's treatment of arya. the waif has developed a name for herself as the rightful successor to the faceless men, which is exactly what she should not do. she is convinced arya is not good enough, that she has learned nothing. arya acts specifically in this grandiose, naive way as she goes out into the open in this episode. the waif also deliberately causes arya to suffer violently when she stabs and twists the knife in her guts, something jaqen explicitly tells her not to do ("don't let her suffer").

that's not all, though. remember any other notable character that hasnt been seen in a long time, but didnt technically die on-screen? syrio forel, arya's trainer in season 1, in king's landing, fights meryn trant, the guy arya stabbed in the eye in season 5 (killing him), with a broken sword. we never see him die. guess how he walks? with his hands behind his back, a habit arya starts doing (very rarely) after meeting him, as a sign of obedience, respect, and grace.

last but not least: arya approaches the bridge to encounter the waif, knowing she is bound to meet her when she "relaxes". as arya approaches the bridge, she passes by a girl that looks EXACTLY like oystersclamscockels-arya, from the back. then arya goes onto the bridge, to stare out into the port, where a braavosi knight statue stands tall, with a broken sword.

arya has become no one. she will deceive the waif, kill her, and deliver the face to jaqen.

idk what will happen next, but some serious mindfkry is about to go down in braavos.

arya is setting up the waif. notice her walking is different in this last episode, and her appearance/attitude is completely different from when we last saw her, hiding in the darkness with needle.

she also does not have needle with her.

she also somehow manages to hide underwater and swim away after receiving a literally gut-wrenching series of stabs.

she has just had a heart-to-heart with an actress, telling her she knows how to act and could do a great job if she applied herself. she learns about how the actors fake blood with pig's blood and concealed sacks that they wear.

she is baiting the waif by walking through the crowd at the end, dripping blood to leave a trail.

everything points towards this, because we know arya has been trained to do exactly the opposite of what she has just appeared to do.
