"manipulate minorities" yes because anyone who isn't white doesn't think for themselves and can't have their own political ideologies
if talking about demographics is wrong...then why were you just talking about millennials? you ageist
"hey x is probably going to vote for y" is fine but saying "y has manipulated all x by hook and by crook" is different
do you think trump is manipulating lower class white people?
He's too orange to be able to manipulate white people. That's just science.

It's like choosing between getting shot or poisoned.
I wrote this on d1, before this whole debate blew up. Nothing has proved those words more true than these arguments.

But please, carry on. This is entertaining.

People who reject the dissolution of abortion clinics and the deportation of innocent tax-paying consumers tend to be better than people who support those endeavors.
You're right, people who manipulate minorities for votes by promising a land of milk and honey and using white people as the scapegoat for all their problems are just flawless people. Why get them out of poverty if you can use them to get votes every year. Just look at Detroit and Chicago, two very Democratic cities who have some of the worst crime and poverty in the country. Btw, Obama has deported more people than every president. Btw Kasich and Rubio are against deportations. Also it's funny how you swing around ethics when under Kantian ethics, abortion would be illegal.
Lord.

also i think the quote was just spoken incredibly badly, but it's already being used to try to paint him in a bad light. it's kind of frustrating because i'm sure a lot of people will see the quote and assume the worst, as opposed to actually looking into it.
what is there to look into? bernie hasnt corrected himself as far as I know. and even with the context, what he said is just plain stupid. I can understand if he misspoke, but if he's not willing to admit he misspoke...idk, kind of weird

Poor, angry, and uneducated are three separate ways to manipulate someone which can also tie together when used by politicians to their advantage. This is why Trump is winning in the Republican party with Southern voters and why Democrats have always won the minority vote especially with those who are poor. "The reason you are having issues is because of the immigrants!! I'll get involved, elect me!!" "The reason you are having issues is because of the rich white people!! I'll get involved, elect me!!" They are on the same coin. Democrats are just as bad as Republicans. Both parties manipulate and lie to get their ways, my point was that Democrats aren't innocent.

i think bernie has the power to reach young adults as a voting demographic, which is one of the harder demographics to channel in a primary but can be tide turning in a GE
except...he has already kind of proved he cant
he's already reached a ton of millennials/young adults, but the issue is that the youth turnout in every election tends to be insanely low, so the pipe dream that "it will be different this time" is kind of silly.

also, don't underestimate how well the argument that sanders is a socialist/communist will turn older people off of him incredibly fast.
It's been a long while since I've been in a debate thread with you ;)

Also his quote, taken out of context or not, about white people not knowing what it is like to be poor or live in a ghetto is surely going to cost him some voters in the future.
literally like 6 years, dang.

If Bernie gets nominated then we're in trouble. Put aside the question of whether his platform is better than Hillary's. The GOP propaganda machine will eat him alive. All it will need to do is convince some small percentage of stupefied virtually illiterate citizens that he's a communist and he'll be toast.
Kind of like how those same illiterate citizens already believe that Clinton should be on trial for actual war crimes?
I think accusations of socialism/communism would probably cut a far greater swath into the ranks of swing voters.
I disagree, especially now that the anti-Soviet propaganda machine isn't in full force anymore.
to old people it is lol
Yes, and old people are far less likely to be swing voters.

That type of propaganda would have worked already if it was going to work at all, considering how far along the Bernster is already
