With all the coverage on TV and online recently, I just wanted to ask you guys a question - would you date a transgender person? Reasoning is cool, saying yes or no is cool, just don't put any dumb in the comments

Personally, I don't think any of us really know what we're talking about at all and have points that we don't have the knowledge to back up.

Including this, right now.
dang....

There's a big difference between understanding something and being able to identify with the feeling. Saying the idea of someone going through with a gender transition makes you uncomfortable because you would never do that isn't about a failure to understand.

i don't think depressed people should try to be happy because that's fighting so hard against a concrete component of how you were born.
i don't have a problem with people being transgendered, i just can't really understand it

you can link me a wikipedia article on homosexuality and i still won't understand the psychological disconnect i have with homosexuality

He makes a valid point. See it from that point of view.

I don't understand why they get so offended, it's a "me vs. the world" mentality and it's really stupid, stop assuming the worst all the time and maybe you'll get some better support instead of just turning people who want to learn about it off from the issue entirely
Giga96over 10 years ago
If you mix up two terms by accident in front of an sjw extremist, they skewer you alive and any attempt to make them aware it was just an accident is seen as "backpedaling", or they just assume you're lying about what you truly believe

Like this is part of the problem for real

i didn't really get trans people until i had my own tinge of gender dysphoria, so take that as you will

"So you don't understand transgenderism? Kill yourself you stupid shitlord of a human being"

This, does in fact NOT help

Half of the problem is sjws getting offended at people who simply don't understand some of these terms.
The entire problem is certain humans getting upset that some people find them undateable

Half of the problem is sjws getting offended at people who simply don't understand some of these terms, automatically assuming that the person who doesn't understand is the devil incarnate before attempting to help them understand the concept which quite frankly i can see as being difficult to understand for some

Downvoting my posts just proves you're dumb

it's really not a difficult concept and if your "mindset" prevents you from figuring it out, then your mindset is that of an idiot.

telling someone you can't date them because they attempted to stop being miserable is actually an extremely idiotic reason and sounds more like a cop out than just saying you don't find them attractive.
It can be both :)

Guys, I really can't believe people are still fighting in this thread. Let's all agree on a few things.

1. Everyone is entitled to their option, no matter how over the top or ignorant.

2. This is a fairly new topic, so the details are fuzzy and there is TRULY no way of knowing what you would do until it happens, yes or no.

3. There is no right answer to this question.
wow you should write for south park
