How does Ninja work exactly? Does the Ninja automatically become assigned to be the killer if they're alive? There's a not on the role that says 'be sure to vote first'.

Whoever votes first takes the brunt of the kill or effect unless the PR has an overriding ability.

For common roles:

Ninja can kill a Bomb
Ninja can hit a Granny (both Ninja and Granny live)
Ninja can evade a Watcher report (no other mafia will be caught by the Watcher if the Ninja leads)
Ninja can evade a Tracker report
