Offering $100 to the winner of 1 round won't mean that people will be more interested in EM in general, particularly competitive mafia. It will be 1 round of nonsense, more work for the mods, and a load of boring drama.

Well, it's significantly less when you factor estimated value. Even if you play better than everyone by a 200% margin, you are still not guaranteed to win. It probably ends up working out as like 24p/hour.
