Soy de california y cuando era niño tenia una niñera que me enseñaba la lengua de español cuando me alimentaba. Mi español es tan horrible pero me gusta aprenderlo porque me gusta la musica española, artistas como Enrique Iglesia y otras. But he's kinda mainstream so I dont think he counts.

Well I know but for the interest of making it easy a lot of people accept americano as one from USA. A lot of people I know say soy Mexicano y norteamericano. I am aware though of the whole thing of making sure everyone knows it's all from NA are Americans
no americano just refers to ppl who live in north america, so basically you said I'm not mexican I'm north american. even estadounidense isnt a completely correct term because mexico is estados unidos mexicanos, but its a more correct term than americanos. really the only way to bypass all the confusion is to forego all that and just say soy un ciudadano de los estados unidos de américa but most ppl accept estadounidense
