I just feel like Currents is so superior, atleast in terms of overall albums. Lonerism had maybe 2-3 tracks I could listen to on repeat but I'm really digging that I can play basically anything now and it goes with everything I do.

nothing on this is all yours is as cool as "fitzpleasure", though, imo
the only problem with the second one is that it meanders a lot, and if you're like me them meandering isn't that big of a deal but i can see why it would bore people
at the same time, it has some really cool songs like hunger of the pine, every other freckle, and warm foothills
i really enjoyed the first album then i listened to the second and started thinking about why i enjoyed the first one in the first place so i think i should relisten to them both

their first album was really good and their second one was better than the internet implies it was
alt-j is really impressive because their first album had a lot of interplay and awareness of each other that a lot of bands struggle to get, so to see them get it out of the gate was pretty cool.

i would take their discography down by the water, down by the river if you know what i mean
i listened to their first album like 3 times and it was OK but i wasn't wild about the genre and i was like "eh whatever" about the idea of listening to lonerism.
i had a pretty similar but less positive reaction to queens of the stone age
