People who defend to the death to use a word that is harmful to a person or group of people are also weak, idiotic, and probably sterile (hopefully).

I say "that's r" all the time irl and online, never had any problem so far with anyone being offended by it (not that that would make it better though I'm just saying). I feel like there's a huge difference between using a word out of habit/exaggeration than using it to legitimately offend someone. I think hateful comments should be more about the comments actually being... Hateful so to speak.

I hate debates about whether or not x word is objectively evil or whatever. If someone is being harassed via these words it's another thing of course. I wouldn't say someone that doesn't use the r word is any better morally than someone that does in the same way I censor my words not because I think others that swear are doing something bad but just because it's a good habit to keep rather than letting profanity slip in awkward situations.

But then again I wouldn't have even censored the word, so my opinion is really invalid here. Adsense already screwed things up and if mods are moderating IC that intensely might as well
solid post, but i'd also say a solid general rule would be to just discontinue the use of any word that has taken on a considerably negative connotation. i mean, what does it matter? or what are you going to do anyway, campaign to free the word from negative connotation? that's a bit ridiculous.
hmm probably the easiest thing to do would be to just censor it if it's a problem, and while we are at it use asterisks instead of a blank space when someone says something in the censor cuz otherwise it makes posts look weird

I mean that's better than giving a bunch of people using it out of habit and meaning no harm violations

There are 0 evil words in any language considering it's all based on connotation and special circumstances.
Of course
First of all, no. Second of all, even if that's the case, and if you think everything's dependent on context, do you really trust these people ( http://i.imgur.com/MpQBHNI.png ) to accurately judge and determine that gray area on this site? Or would you rather correctly declare certain words off-limits so that there's nothing to debate?
