For the record......I am generally and emphatically offended by this whole thread and hop the mods will remove it. The whole thread is in bad taste and is obviously directed towards me because I am the most vocal about not using the R word.

that being said like most discriminatory words i don't think they are inherently wrong to use, this is made quite clear by the fact that groups discriminated against often recycle words that were used to discriminate them. Giving them new meanings via tone and use of said words.
